Hi Everyone,

I've been looking into getting the Fitbit charge 2 and been doing loads of research on it within the community forum and seen that some people are saying that the Sony Xperia XZ is compatible and some are saying it's not..I've looked on the compatible list device and obviously my phone isn't there...I know that my phone isn't tested....

But if I buy the charge 2 can my phone still work with it as people are saying it work alright including the Mods on Fitbit

please help with with my confusion.

Offically it has not been tested and added to the compatibility list, unofficially there may be users who are using this device without issue. Part of Fitbit testing is making any required adjustments to their app to ensure all features work with said device.

What this means for you is the following:

1. It may work in a limited capacity so what you might find is that syncing works but advanced features like notifications and connected gps tracking, etc won't work at all or won't work reliabily.

2. It might all just work reliably.

3. It may not work at all.

One of the issues with using a device not on the list is that it could stop working at any time with app updates and you'll receive no support from Fitbit.

I've been using Fitbit trackers for years now and recently was given the Blaze as a gift. I found it extremely unreliable to sync and advanced features just didn't work with my flagship Moto Z. I got tired of waiting for Fitbit to add my device to the list and have since sold it and moved to another tracker from Garmin that works perfectly.

To me, it feels like Fitbit have a very low opinion of android users. This is evident in their very limited compatible device list unless you own a Samsung or Apple device.

Hello,

I am just wondering, why is it that after a year  fitbit has still not managed to add Sony Xperia XZ to the list?

Any ideas?

Personally  I am getting tired of waiting..

"Solved" answered would be better. Poor effort from both Sony and Fitbit. I have to sync via a pad at home, not the mobile on the move. Will reconsider both Fitbit and Sony when I replace the Fitbit. Worked perfectly with my old Samsung.

My Sony XP (2016) is still working perfectly with my Ionic, One and Surge in multi mode. It now has Android 8.0.0.

My only issue is possible hardware with the Ionic GPS after the last update which is with Fitbit Support

Is there any news on when the fitbit app will be fully compatible with Xperia XZ? Some of these messages are two years old and it is strange that this seems to be the only app I have problems with, despite having an Xperia XZ for a couple of years.

I'm about to order a new Fitbit, because my Charge HR has finally stopped syncing after 2 years of working fine.  But if the fitbit app is still not compatible, I may start looking at another fitness tracker.  Don't want to - I like fitbits!

Fitbit Blaze still does not work with this phone, there is something wrong with the Bluetooth. My laptop, all Apple devices, even my car can see my Blaze, the Sony XZ "WILL NOT" find it, no matter how many restarts, uninstalls, reinstalls and updates are applied.

Why is this thread listed as solved?

Agreed, still not solved. Very frustrating. I am curious now as to where
the problem lies - Sony or Fitbit? Does Sony have to pay Fitbit to make it
compatible and they refuse? Does Fitbit just refuse to make the app
compatible with Sony?
How do we get this changed? How can we improve the situation? Who do we
need to contact to make things better?
