Surge Classic won't pair.

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have a Surge. I have it paired with my Samsung s7. Where I am having issues is pairing Surge Classic. It shows up in available devices. I set the the Surge to pair mode. I click on the Surge Classic on my phone. A pairing number pops up on the Surge but the phone continues saying it is pairing, and then eventually times out. I have tried hitting both the X as well as the check mark. I have tried hitting the buttons on the watch first, phone 2nd and vice versa. Any thoughts anyone?

Hello @kst8er86, it's nice to see new members in the Fitbit Community. If you have paired your tracker with your Fitbit account already, there is no need to pair your tracker using the Surge Classic, unless you want to use music control.

Remember that your Surge syncs through the Fitbit app using the Bluetooth of your phone. So there is no need to use the settings of your phone for this process.

Now if you wan to control your music with your Surge perhaps the following post will provide you more details. Is in this situations when you use the Surge Classic option.

Let me know if this is what you are looking or you need additional help.

I've tried it all. Same directions I see everywhere. Basically, pressing pair in phone Bluetooth menu simply times out, doesn't produce a code. However, the surge provides a code every time. It's communicating with the phone

I have the exact same issue with my blaze. It has been happening since the most recent update. The blaze shows up as a Bluetooth connect option on my s7edge, but just keeps cycling, and won't link. I don't think it's a coincidence that it happened as soon as they rolled out their new and improved features. Please fix fit bit!!!

Hi there @kst8er86 and welcome aboard to the Fitbit Community @Elee319.

@kst8er86 I would like to know more details of the steps you have tried so far, note that if by any reason the pairing process music control was not successful or If you were interrupted and didn't complete the pairing process, you might have difficulty when you try to pair again.

If pairing was unsuccessful twice in a row, follow these troubleshooting steps:

  1. On your mobile device, go to Settings > Bluetooth.
  2. In the list of devices, find your tracker.
  3. Tap the icon next to the tracker name and then tap Forget this Device.
  4. Restart your mobile device.
  5. Try setting up music control again.

@Elee319 in your case I'm wondering if the issue you are describing is with Music Control or with syncing your exercise information? Let me know more details so I can provide you some suggestions that could be helpful. In the meantime perhaps this post will provide you more help: Having trouble syncing? (here's how to fix this).

See you around and for anything else just keep me posted.
