My fitbit surge will not stay connected with my galaxy S7. When I manage to get them connected the surge drops of and will not reconnect. I removed and reinstalled the fit bit app several times with limited success but never a permanent connection. Please help.

Hi there @WillC51, thank you for joining to our Fitbit Community!

Depending of your Android device, these tips might make syncing easier:

  • Turn on the Always Connected option in the Fitbit app. This setting improves the Bluetooth connection between your phone and Fitbit device. Note that turning on this feature may cause the battery on your Fitbit device to drain more quickly than normal.
  • Turn on All-Day Sync in the Fitbit app. This setting prompts your Fitbit device to periodically sync with the Fitbit app but may shorten battery life on your phone or Fitbit device.

It is possible your tracker lose connection, when you quit the app from the background, however it should resume the connection when you open the app again.

For an overall help if you are not able to sync, review the following post: Having trouble syncing? (here's how to fix this).

Hope this helps and let me know how it goes.
