Syncing with LG G7

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I recently got a lg g7 thinq phone. My fitbit one was working and for some reason stopped syncing this morning. I tried doing what I've read to do; restart phone, delete app and redownload; delete device and reconnect. Nothing worked and now I can't connect my devise at all. Please help!

Welcome to the Forums @JPinky.

This might be happening because the LG G7 is not currently on the supported devices list. This means that the app has not been fully optimized to work with that phone and thus some issues might happen.

There is chance that it can work as long as it fulfills the minimum requirements, Android 4.4 and Bluetooth 4.0, however we cannot guarantee that it will. Some users that do not have have supported phones have mentioned that following these steps has helped them, maybe you could give it a shot.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Mine stop working a few days ago, Charge 2 was working fine up until then something changed, maybe an app update, will wait on purchase of Charge 3 until it's compatible with my device.

Welcome to the Forums @bluetexan.

It is definitely possible that an update on the app caused further optimization issues with the app which led to this.

If you have the time, be sure to try the steps I shared above. There is a possibility that it will work.

It's still not syncing. This is very frustrating because now I have a device that won't sync to my phone. I'm trying to keep off my exercise and calorie intake and now I can't because of the app update

I'm using mfp too, however the device won't sync my steps so it doesn't adjust my calorie intake.

JPinky,
I'm using an old device to sync with, your desktop should be correct also.
It's a pain for sure. Basically I can sync my old phone( WiFi only) and the
G7 will update, my desktop has been correct all along.

Jpinky,

I finally got it working and syncing, I followed these steps

https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Charge-2/Can-t-pair-Charge-2-on-Android-phone/m-p/2617984

I reset tracker

Chose to setup new device

Made sure bluetooth was off on old phone I was using to sync with

Right now it is syncing with my G7 hopefully it will last I did not lose any data and MFP is still linked with device.

Hello @bluetexan and @JPinky.

Thanks for trying the steps I suggested, I definitely understand how frustrating it must be.

@bluetexan Glad to read that you managed to get it to work, thanks for sharing that link to the thread that helped you.

@JPinky As @bluetexan mentioned, you could use a computer or another mobile device to get your Fitbit to sync. You can find instructions on how to sync with other devices in this help article.

Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.

Bought a new Versa. Will not sync with LG7. If a solution besides the world's ...hey do my job for me mentality so the real issue LG is being paid to fixed isn't addressed,  I'm switching back to Samsung!

I have had issues with it syncing since I bought the LG G7 ThinQ months ago...having to jump through hoops to get it to sync...now I have followed all the steps and still nothing. I don't have all day to keep going through all the steps...Frustrating to say the least! Now it's basically a watch...I will never purchase another Fit Bit again. Not to mention when this was happening months ago I contacted Fit Bit to see if they could add my phone as one of the supporting devices...NOTHING!

I am fortunate enough to have just bought mine and I'm returning it. I also
have spread the word at my gym for all LG G7 users to not purchase or
cancel orders. Very disappointed and going with LG watch today. It is
unfortunate we have all gone through this avoidable situation. The
retailers should know the product and not recommend this.

I found this forum because I was having sync issues with my LG G7. What ultimately fixed the problem for me was uninstalling the app, reinstalling, and then letting the app take control (ie not pairing my ionic in the Bluetooth settings of the phone first). I ONLY followed the in-app prompts, allowed location, and then  when prompted to connect with my ionic, I just said "ok" and it finally synced. Closed and reopened the app and tried again and it worked.
