Fitbit Update: 9/12/19
Hey all!
We're still investigating and working on a fix for this text notification issue on Android.
In addition to not receiving the correct text notification, we're now aware this is also affecting call notifications. Some of you may only see a previous caller's name and not the person actually calling you at the time you're receiving the notification.
When we have more information for a fix, we'll announce it here in this thread. Please stay tuned for updates!
Fitbit Update: 7/30/19
Hi everyone.
We're aware of these issues with receiving only the sender's name from your text messages. This appears to have started with the Fitbit for Android app version 3.0. If you're experiencing this yourself with your Fitbit device, please know we're working on a fix.
While our team investigates this further, we just ask for your patience. Once I have information for a fix, I'll make an announcement here on this thread.

I tweeted Fitbit over the weekend expressing my extreme frustration with this issue and the fact that my Blaze is now just an expensive pedometer with non of the key functionality advertised (phone and text alerts.)
After much back and forth (they are very sorry for my inconvenience.....) I requested a response for a fix or compensation within 72 hours. If I do not receive a suitable answer, I will continue to post my issues on twitter but also plan to reach out to local media and to consult legal counsel regarding potential action for continuing to market products knowing that key functionality does not work. I suggest that as many as possible threaten the same and perhaps (after 3.5 months) we may get more than "we are looking into it" as a response.

@Kashac yep! they also deleted the post about reporting the "best answer" as going against community guidelines.
"We won't/can't help you, but we will censor the crap out of you while you try to help one another. Cheers!"

Jayvee (10/7/2019, 1:58:28 PM): Hi Erin, my name is Jayvee with the Fitbit Sales Center. How can I help you?
Me (10/7/2019, 1:59:00 PM): Hello! Do the Ionic, Versa 2, and Charge 3 actually have call/text functionality with Android Platform or is to broken for these devices too?
Jayvee (10/7/2019, 1:59:20 PM): I'll be glad to assist you with your Fitbit device inquiry.
Jayvee (10/7/2019, 2:00:07 PM): I am happy to inform you that Ionic, Versa 2 and Charge 3 can receive call and text notifications.
Me (10/7/2019, 2:00:51 PM): You are 100% positive? My Blaze has not received notifications since the update in June and there are 34 pages of other Fitbit users with the same issue
Jayvee (10/7/2019, 2:01:37 PM): Yes, Erin. You can visit https://www.fitbit.com/compare to view all the features of Fitbit devices.
Jayvee (10/7/2019, 2:02:03 PM): If you're having issues. You can visit https://help.fitbit.com/?cu=1 and change the country set at the bottom right part of the page to contact our support team.
Me (10/7/2019, 2:02:47 PM): Thanks, have contacted support multiple times. This is a known defect.
Jayvee (10/7/2019, 2:03:02 PM): I'm sorry to hear about the experience.
Me (10/7/2019, 2:03:25 PM): I will be saving this conversation to provide to local media and legal counsel as proof that Fitbit is continuing to ignore the problem and provide false advertising regarding its products.

Please people stop sending me replies.
I don't have any thing to do with FITBIT.
I do not work for them.
I am just a Fitbit user.
Because I worked out my problem with my Ionic, I tried to post a suggestion
Because I am a Christian, I did post
What did work for me.
I did more than what Fitbit tech is doing (nothing to help all those frustrated users). The complaint department is not with me.

Pixel 3a, Android 10, Blaze. No text message notification. General sync is inconsistent - sometimes happens automatically, sometimes I have to manually sync. Call notifications work. I'm a Fitbit fan, a fix would be wonderful so I can go back to loving my Fitbit.
