Hello everyone!

I would like to announce that the redesigned Fitbit app starts rolling out today! This new app will help you reach your goals, and bring the health and wellness information right on hand.

Check out our latest blog for how to get the most out of the new app.

Note: Please be patient if you don't see the update right away, as it will take some time to roll out completely.

Happy stepping!

@Ooramahgeenohoh

Previously, there was Max and Avg for exercise heart rate. Now you get avg. only.

On the exercise HR graph, you can tap the graph and scroll back an forth and see your HR # at any point in time during the exercise.

Fitbit user since 2015 - one reason was I liked the app and could quickly review/scan and track information. The customization is minimal unless I'm missing something (which if I am, that is also an issue that it is not user friendly or intuitive). Biggest complaint is the removal of the battery percentage - this was useful when I charged and could check on my phone when it was 100%. The 'full' listing is much less than the 100%. Also a big negative is the fact that the old format allowed for one click to steps and at a glance I could see the total steps from the prior week(s) and the total for the current week which allowed me to adjust my schedule according to the numbers. One click on the new format just shows steps today, drill down by selecting week and just see the current week, drill down to month and only see this weeks daily average and prior weeks averages - I want to know the total step count for the week. Just seems like a lot of clicking and drilling down to find information that was previously available at a click and glance. Very disappointing to put it mildly and don't see them changing back or fixing issues any time soon. OK, I see this as an epic fail to put it in strong terms. Rant over. Will start reviewing other smartwatches and apps for the future.

It's awful, please put it back. Can't put the important features where I want them, everything is bland colorless, and harder to differentiate. Update is a serious downgrade!!! Hate it! Why and I paying for you to make it all worse?

Best Answer

Please fix the missing battery level percentage or provide a way to roll back ASAP.

I don't like this new version. Please enable roll-back.

Also I cannot now sync unless location is on 24/7, previously I had it only on when the app was active. Please let me turn off location always on.

Its google they want all your data ..to resale it

This is now a very dangerous app for personal data

Oh and one more thing, the heart rate page still has not been fixed. It still doesn't honour the first day of the week setting.

And you can no longer see the charge state!

I don't know what problem you were trying to solve, but redesigning it did not improve it.

For example, I don't want to display energy consumption on my home screen. I don't care. I'm not giving the option to hide it.

For in cups not ounces. Not given an option. You solved a problem I didn't have by creating a new problem.

I missed the previous display of hourly steps met.

Redesign is not better. It is different. It is not as good. But hey congrats you redesigned the app.

After 5 years I have canceled my fit bit app and premium subscription. There are too many other options out there to put up with the interface.

This update is very disappointing. I want the old app back. I do not like the look or the organization. Or this new, pick one thing to focus on. Its bland, boring, and frankly looks cheap. Give us the option to go back to what we liked.

I hope that this flood of unfavorable review of this "upgrade" will get the attention of the people who decided to accept this horrible design. They can't be people who actually use this app!

Best Answer

They ignored the complaints about the deletion of some of the social activities features, so I'm not very hopeful about this fiasco.

You found battery somewhere? I can't even find it!

With new app, hourly activity doesn't show anything: says 0 of 0. OK, that's actually correct today, as I'm sick. But yesterday was 10/14 and the day before was 13/14. 0 of 0 makes no sense anyway, as my goal is 14. If I tap the icon, I get a mostly blank screen.

I went into Activity & Wellness and tapped "Daily Activity". That shows me my goals, with "Hourly Activity Goal" set to 10:00AM - 12:00AM. But if I tap that, it flashes and I'm back to Activity & Wellness. Something is borked. I cleared data and the app wouldn't even start after that until I rebooted the phone. Now I'm logged back in and it's still broken,

On the today page go to the top left hand corner and click on the icon that looks like the Phone and Tracker and next to the tracker there is a battery symbol that is the only battery that is on the new app

The color scheme is just awful! I'm not colorblind but this app makes me feel like I am! All the features have changed. I don't know who the hell green lit this for launch but they should be fired!  This is an absolute joke! No way to change back. I have to now buy an oura ring. Their app is so much cleaner than this **ahem**. Bye bye fit bit...nice job!

Thanks, so it does. Gee, that's intuitive. Not.

It also says "Battery full"; device says it's at 83%. I will remember that, pay 83% of any money I ever owe Fitbit, then tell them they were paid in full! /s

I'm with ya! This is just terrible!  I asked customer support how to revert and they said, they don't see them doing that any time in the future.  Cool. 👎

Best Answer

I completely agree with you. I can't find one redeeming feature with this upgrade. Way to walk it back from being a useful, user-friendly tool Fitbit.

Looks like I'm not the only one sorely disappointed with latest update to dashboard.   It's terrible!!!
