Hello everyone!
I would like to announce that the redesigned Fitbit app starts rolling out today! This new app will help you reach your goals, and bring the health and wellness information right on hand.
Check out our latest blog for how to get the most out of the new app.
Note: Please be patient if you don't see the update right away, as it will take some time to roll out completely.
Happy stepping!
It's terrible now! And why do permissions for eg. location, have to be on ALL the time instead of just 'while using the app'? So It's always running in the background?
I suspect Google will be hell-bent on sticking with this awful piece of work since few companies have the courage to admit that they really screwed up. But seriously, left as is, even with tweaks, it will drive users away, my wife and I included. This as an application model is irredeemable. I'll restate something I wrote earlier. In deference to the many appalled by this supposed "update," why not post the old version, clearly stating that it will no longer be updated, on YOUR Play Store so that those so choosing can get back the bankable utility we've enjoyed for years with our Fitbit products. This so-called "update" clearly was not meaningfully tested as a beta and given its structure almost certainly wasn't developed by individuals who seriously use a Fitbit, or likely any tracker, as part of their personal health and training guidance/support. Someone needs to start meaningfully supervising the software development process for this product. It's almost certain that Google intends to take the best of Fitbit to roll into their existing product line with the end goal being to drive business in that direction while slowly killing off Fitbit. But if anything like this is the UI that will be used on Google's proprietary brand, the effect will be to make your many capable competitors look so much better in comparison. Absent regaining access to the previous, easily useful, and compactly informative application, my wife and I will be moving pretty quickly to Garmin or AMAZTIM, sadly retiring the many years of happily using the Charge line.

I agree. I’ve phoned customer support and suggested that they should let customers choose which app they want. My mother at 81 doesn’t want a change she just wants sleep, heart rate and exercise. That’s all. And now she can’t even see her sleep score but has got menstrual health -which she hardly needs at this stage of her life !!!!!!! Needless to say the customer agent blamed Google non of whom are there to provide assistance for the go live stages !!!
Can’t believe they are calling this an update it should be called back date as it’s so appalling. Google ….. how could you do this to customers ?!
It is !!!! Graphs are background this is your dashboard and in everyone’s face.
I too am disappointed that I no longer can track my streak. I also wish the step count was first not so low on the list. Plus battery life seems to be gone too. Hate the “upgrade”.

Totally agree with you
I also called customer support, and asked her to make a comment on file, she said she would and also encouraged me to go on the community site and express my displeasure!, I hope your mom is doing well!
@SunsetRunner
He's a multi-poster, but for some reason that behavior is not always being enforced for him.
He clutters pages fitbi+ching.
Looking for a new smartwatch for fitness! This dashboard does not inspire me to look at my data therefore it is useless! To BIG! I like look at a glance...this is like scrolling a whole website it's so big!! It's awfully!! Who is the idiot that designed this!! I hope this message makes it to them!!

I know! I miss that!
Click on the ‘pencil’ at the top left and it will take you to a page where you can turn off the menstrual cycle option. I didn’t want it either so I got rid of it. I didn’t want to look at that every day 🙄
I meant top right🥴
Put it back.to the original way. I HATE the new look. I want battery back, be able to see when I receive calls and text messages. PLEASE PUT IT BACK.
