905 replies on this thread, more than 24000 views and not a single credible response from either fitbit or Google. That's OK. I will seek them elsewhere.

They should do a rollback, so they could correct this mess without any pressure, and post again that new app when ready. That what I would do at work in such situation !

Hi AMS50. I so totally agree with everything you say.

All this shows me that FitBit/Google really don’t give a hoot about
customers. It was always difficult to contact FitBit about anything. I
don’t understand their business strategy relating to customers at all.

The new dashboard pains me every time I open the app! 🤯🤯🤯 and I, like
you, don’t need menstrual tracking and it seems ridiculous to have it
front and centre. The sleep record is one of the things I liked best about
my FitBit. The Heart rate recording was great too.

Anyway, I loathe the new dashboard app as well as the company’s attitude to
customers so much that I spent time yesterday researching Apple Watches and
was impressed enough to pay the price so I ordered a series 9! Can’t wait
for it to arrive! It even has an ECG setting. So many functions I am amazed!

Does FutBit/Google not realise there are thousands of basic, cheap fitness
trackers and free phone apps that people can use? Dumbing down the Fitbit
app is such a ridiculous move! People will simply buy a new tracker and
download a better app. Or like me, match up an Apple Watch to an iPhone.

Between us, our family has had six FitBits including the original clip on
one my daughter had when they first came out. Like me, however, she was so
disgusted and disappointed with the new app that she has also ordered an
Apple Watch series 9 for herself and also plans to buy a second one for her
hubby for Christmas to replace his FitBit. My granddaughters don’t wear
their Fitbits because they don’t like them anyway, so that’s one, formerly
loyal Fitbit family, who has totally left the company in disgust.

The app offered me a survey I said yes after I finish consulting help. Then the survey went away. Please test your app before releasing it.

Ugly hiding anything useful and then it crashed

No additiomal features

Let's try again and in the meantime allow rollback to old app

It was at 4.0 yesterday. They must be deleting **ahem** again. Go there and on
twitter.

This has absolutely nothing in common with that. Do yourself a favor stop
posting that. It's ridiculous.

I completely agree there was nothing wrong with the old interface I want it back everything in the new one is just bubbly and it gives you less data there's less days of steps there's less exercise sessions as other people have pointed out which I didn't even realize there's less days of sleep data.

I completely wish there was a way to opt out and get back to the old interface. I don't think that allow that. This one is just so much white, there's no information, there there's less information on each and every screen which is awful for a fitness tracking application. Too big thumbs down. I've been a Fitbit user for a long time maybe when this current unit dies I might look into another ecosystem.

I would love to revert back to the old system. I can't agree more so much white so much less information try clicking on any of the individual icons. You get less data I can't scroll endlessly and see all of my days of steps which I used to like to do to see my good days my bad day one month the last time I didn't hit my goal. Don't see that option anymore.

Bring the old one back. The new design sucks. Makes it really hard to find what I need because everything looks the same. Who ever or evers thought the new design looked good or was easier needs to be fired. Hate the new layout so much I am taking the time to write a complaint.

New interface is terrible!

Where are the fireworks when you complete the daily “circles” ?! (Steps, calories, miles, zone minutes). This was part of our daily motivation to keep on track.

You can’t even tell when the circles are completed for the particular metric.

We are considering canceling the premium subscription.

It's strange I've had over 90 email notifications of responses to this thread in the last 24 hours and yet the number of reply pages has only increased from 44 to 45? I'm no statistician but that's not right. Why are replies being deleted? Why do lots of them say at the top 'edited by RodrigoMFitbit'?

Fitbit, let people have their say!!!! If you're going to do something controversial like this you must have expected a controversial response? You must have anticipated that folks would want to discuss 'other options' (not allowed to say) and discuss feedback that's been left on 'other platforms' (not saying that word either), how is this a surprise to you?

The reason that people are furious about this is no longer merely that you changed the app to something unusable for most of us, it's the way Fitbit/Google/whoever you are, have responded, with a total lack of understanding of your customer base. The insinuation that the new app is great and therefore we must all be dumb for not loving it, so disdainful and patronising. And now the deceitful compromising of your customer's freedom of speech by deleting their opinions is the final straw.

Do the dignified thing. Put the old app back for those who want it.

I'm surprised by this, too. Last nightI had many email notifications, too, but only a handful lasted. When I read the emails, not all of them are very bad, just critical.

I don't understand how the process behind the scenes of Fitbit works. Big bang changes are so old fashioned! They usually don't work. If they work Agile, they implement piece by piece, and use feedback, also by customers, to improve their product, and redirect the direction if needed. After all, as a company you want to make a good product for your customer, and even improve it. Not degrade it.

I agree with @Linz16 I also have an email inbox with many more additional messages for this thread than are currently visible.

Update: it would be helpful if posts showed a timestamp.

Agreed! And I don't need the stupid handle they gave me! Jogger!! That I
am not@

It was helpful to see the percent on the app so I didn’t have to keep running to the charger to see 99%!!!

Where is the step streak??? Bring it back…great motivator!!

How do I roll back to the old interface? This new one is horrendous. Activities I used to be able to log, are no longer available... I have to search to find weekly steps... more clicks than previously. It's almost as if this interface was not tested with users!

Bobby, show everyone how to see step streaks and battery charge.

Left my Fitbit to charge and sync, came back to see that the new app had been installed and it is awful awful, everything is so monochrome. I can't see or get the sleep breakdown to show on the main page.....what a terrible upgrade ☹️

Best Answer

It's dreadful. Utterly dreadful. So dreadful I'm going to cancel my premium sub and look for another project. And don't link your phone to the app otherwise it will overwrite your Fitbit tracker with that and stop recording floors.

Shocking how Google are trashing a once great product.

The app hasn't recorded any floors for me since the update last week - suspect that might be because it suggested linking my phone which I suspect overrides the Fitbit tracker rendering wearing it rather pointless.

Also floors are now dumped down at bottom of the activity screen with no option to put it at the top.

Horrid, horrid 'upgrade'.

In fact it's a downgrade.

Will be cancelling my premium subscription
