Hello everyone!

I would like to announce that the redesigned Fitbit app starts rolling out today! This new app will help you reach your goals, and bring the health and wellness information right on hand.

Check out our latest blog for how to get the most out of the new app.

Note: Please be patient if you don't see the update right away, as it will take some time to roll out completely.

Happy stepping!

Since the update the app has stopped tracking floors. Is that because I linked my phone as suggested? Is that overwriting the Fitbit tracker?

Did you test this update in any way before rolling out? Judging by the responses here the answer is a big fat no.

Is there any way to see your weekly goal for active zone minutes now? Although it still lets you set one, it only seems to show daily goal and then when you click on week it's just % of the 150 minutes target from the AHA. As someone that usually aims for around 400 minutes a week, this is entirely useless. Active zone minutes were the main reason I had a Fitbit, and I don't pay much attention to the daily figure as it's more about what I do in total of my longer workouts over a week - now, there's nowhere this appears to be displayed?!

This is on top of the fact that over the year, it's knocked off about 500 steps a day from my totals, and that's on the dashboard too so that data is just gone somehow. Agreed with others, looking at alternatives now...

My app was updated last week on Android and the font is huge and clunky. I don't have access to my battery percentage on the app, I have to go to the actual device. It is inconvenient. The hourly activity is hard to read, due to it only having some hours on it, you have to look at the sticks to decide what hour it is. It shows as an example for mine, 7 am, 10 am, 1 pm, 4 pm, etc. I like seeing all the hours. It does not detect activity automatically like in previous versions, when I walk for more than 15 min, it shows the level of activity in colors like peak, cardio, and fat burn on the front screen. I like the visuals on the old app that were color-coded, it was motivating to see when I hit peak performance. I have been a Fitbit user for about 10 years and I have never seen an update that took away the things I like as much as this one.

I also miss seeing the battery % left on the app. Luckily I still get a notification on my phone when it gets low, but that won't help if I am not home. The other changes I can probably learn to live with.

Sorry not as good as the old fit bit app. Way better than the new fitbit app

The step count is there it's just much lower down so that it can't be shared in a screenshot along with the map. This makes it less useful. In addition the map is ... childlike is the nicest thing you can say. It's missing all the information that used to be there. There was no need to change things to make them worse and less informative.

Please bring back the old app. The new app is a very inferior product. Cheap, ugly and not effective.

I have this issue too. I can only see the detailed data from one exercise session in the day. And the heart rate colours are the worst I ever saw. Wish we had the option to use the old app.

I agree completely with you. Very poor colour choices. They have no differentiation between them

No option. I emailed support to change but they said that the new app is the only version available.

You can't get it back! I couldn't believe it when they told me we have no other option but to use this version. It's dreadful

How do I see my current heart rate on the new app? It just shows my resting heart rate and some sort of range - not the current heart rate. Is there somewhere I can find this?

After charging my device, I found the new app has, on the top-left, a new icon showing a phone and watch. Click that and you can get to see the charge level. Not as convenient, but it is there.

No option?
Sure there is. I just canceled my premium subscription and actively researching for something else.
Any good alternative recommends? No I don’t want or need an Apple Watch.

@bkeller that's the one they've been trying to fob us off with all week. It doesn't show the charge level, it just says 'full, medium or low'. Full can be anything from 60 to 100%, so pretty useless for most of us 😞 it always used to show an accurate % level to enable users to judge when they need to charge but unfortunately we cannot do that anymore because the new levels are so vague and inaccurate.

If you scroll down it is there on mine. I think you have to choose which
info you want on the page.

I agree totally  disappointed  with the changes (update)

Fitbit really didn't think about accessibility issues for people with dyslexia and other forms of visual stress - it really hard to focus due to lack of colour contrast.

It really is horrible - I struggle to read and understand it.  Please do something about this.

That has been a motivator for so many users. But they don't give a crap
about their users. It's all about taking the best of Fitbit and moving to
their new product. It's just corporate greed

Go to You Tube and look for an instructional video: How to downgrade Fit bit App 4.0 to 3.85 Android. if you want the exact link to the video, it is included in a post titled "Has anyone found a way to reinstall the old version of the app?"  in the Fitbit.com Dashboard forum. Remember to turn off auto update for the app on the google play store!!!

Maybe they will get the message from the Google Play Store star rating - now down to 3.8 stars. It was at 4.0 yesterday afternoon
