Hello everyone!

I would like to announce that the redesigned Fitbit app starts rolling out today! This new app will help you reach your goals, and bring the health and wellness information right on hand.

Check out our latest blog for how to get the most out of the new app.

Note: Please be patient if you don't see the update right away, as it will take some time to roll out completely.

Happy stepping!

I had an update on my android app Sept 28th, and this must be the worst update ever. The design looks like something from the early 1990s, its boring and I want the old design back.

And where did the battery % go??

Now I dont know when to charge my fitbit, because you cant see the battery status anywhere.

The updates are supposed to make it better, right???

Anyone who is reading this prior to updating to the new app, DON'T DO IT.  The new app removes functionality, features, and design from the existing app.  Read the other forums!  DON'T UPDATE THE APP, all customization features have been removed, tiles are now grouped and cannot be sorted to the way you want to view them, battery percentage on the app is no longer there (only full, medium, low; and very difficult to find), other features are similar.  The design literally looks like a kindergarten kid designed it.  Hang with the old app as long as possible.

Specky - It's worse.  Don't update if you have not updated yet.

fit_Bergen  - Retro-90's look is a compliment.  I think it looks like a 6 year old Kindergarten kid in art class designed it .....

I do not like it. 😒  old one was better. Most options disappeared and the appearance is awful.

😒 can't say I like it at all really. Lost options that I liked and appearance is dull dull. Is this a test or can I go back to previous?

Lizzie, as you can see this did not go over well. Can you post how we can install the prior version. This has caused an uproar!

This update is absolutely horrible!!!! Its a complete crap fest!!! The UI is ugly, boring, and completely useless!! Thank God I had the older version backed up, it made it so easy to get rid of the garbage that is this new version and switch back to something that actually works. Whoever approved this update should be shown the door. The worst thing this company did was sell out to Google. The devices, app, website, customer service, basically everything has gone down the crapper since FitBit sold out!!!!

Long time Fitbit client. Just cancelled my Premium subscription. The new Fitbit app is not what I had agreed to pay for. Bring back the previous app!

This "update" is harder to read, the information is not presented well visually, it's poorly organized, and some info (like battery percentage) is simply gone.

Besides the basics (steps, etc), the things I want to see quickly are buried near the bottom of a long page - with NO way to put what _I_ want to see where I can easily see it. (For example, health data, such as the heart rate info.)

Missing: Battery percentage. Used to be right up top, now it is nowhere to be found.  (The tiny, faint info on the Fitbit screen is currently impossible to read.)

The new format is bad enough I'm regretting having renewed my Premium subscription.

The battery life is left in my fitbit. I have to rely on the device that ran out of power the other day. When I do an exercise or take a brisk walk or run it no longer shows the cardio time. I would like to know the fat burning the cardio and the peak not this moderate crap! Also the font is too light in color. As I explained to two different helper customer service people, there's a lot of baby boomers that use fitbits and our eyes don't see those light colors very well anymore. I also had to ask customer service how to find the new clock faces on my fitbit. So yes the new upgrade on the app really blows!

How do I get my display to look like the image in your post - with steps as the main item in the center? Mine is showing calories and I can't figure out how to change this?

@noniyyc

In the app, on the right side of the word 'today' you can see a little pencil. There you can choose a different theme. All the data is displayed, but in a different order, so you can select what suits you best.

Tap on the pencil at the top of your today dashboard. (Where mine says
steps). Then click on the steps option first. Don't forget to save it. I
think you can only change what you see first. Also if you scroll down and
click on other metrics you can turn off whatever ones you don't want to see
on your dashboard...I got rid of menstrual and food. Again don't forget to
Save. Hope this helps.

But it is awful … worse redesign ever

I am in agreement with all those who have said how awful this update is. A perfectly functional and feature rich App has been ruined. This could be a cynical ploy to introduce chargeable features, it might just be a marketing disaster - or both.

Thanks @Zaat !  At least when you pick the choice at the end of the choices offered, it allows you to customize the top of the app which helps a lot.  I had a Sense 2 from last year's Black Friday I had not started using yet as my original Sense lasted longer than any other Fitbit I ever had, two years, and decided to switch today to the Sense 2 due to the battery on the Sense needed charged at least every other day now, and sometimes every day.  I am going to investigate, though, since I have an Android phone, reverting back to the old app as has been shown by some people in these Forums.  Sad to say though because of the changes Google continues to do with Fitbit, this will probably be my last Fitbit.  I have been a devoted Fitbit fan since 2013, ten years now, along with my wife and other people I have either talked into Fitbits or bought them one for them to use.  But the continual app changes, removing great features, design elements, and flexibility, have not made any sense.  Looking at some competitors now (not Apple) their software has caught up with Fitbit and might be beyond it now.
