Check out our latest blog for how to get the most out of the new app.

Factory reset of phone?

Sent from my iPhone
Best Answer

Seems extreme that to get one app working I have to reset everything else 🤔

Best Answer

This is my last fitbit.  This new app sucks..  really???  Reset my phone because fitbit screwed up the app.  I cannot see battery level and the screen no longer shows that it is charging. Just done with it.

Best Answer

No way should you have to reset your phone. And even if you did, you wouldn't get the old app back. The new one is in the app stores now.

I agree. That’s what I was querying

I agree!

I didn't get the old app back, but at least it's syncing again....

I too had been thinking about a new fibit. I was kind of excited to try a Charge6. Given the new buggy, ugly App I am changing my mind.

Hi @Smile2022 @Ngv2 - probably best to post in "The redesigned Fitbit app is rolling out!" topic in this forum along with the other unhappy users where you will see more fully all the issues

Unfortunately it would seem likely you are stuck with this version.

Thanks! I couldn't figure out how to find where you mentioned, so I just
left my message where it is now. If you feel like letting me know how to
find the right place, I can repost it, but I think you're right in saying I
am stuck with it. Do you like the new version, or do you have some other
Fitbit model?

Thanks! You were smart! I have manual updates, too, but said yes to the
download. Who knew it was going to such a disaster! Thanks for your help!

I wish I hadn’t updated…. What on earth happened to the Fitbit App? The visual look is so plain and really hard to find items because everything is All One Color. Come on Fitbit what are you thinking? No one wants to look at and use an App that looks like it came from the Pong era. FYI for those young folks, that is a game from the 1970’s….

Best Answer

How do I go back to the previous version? Don't like it.

@Flygirl61 - LOL - I had the Pong game!  I have been saying it looks like it was designed by 6 year old Kindergarten kid but maybe Pong is more accurate!    The app is why most of us use Fitbit and since Google's purchase and them completely taking away the challenges and features that Fitbit users loved to now redesigning the UI to go backwards is disheartening to say the least for this 10 years Fitbit user.  I had unfortunately bought a Fitbit Sense 2 at least year's Black Friday sale so I just put that on but have already done research to change my wife and myself to Garmin once our Fitbits die.

Best Answer

@waynecz  I find myself not using my luxe at all since this update. I am not waiting for it to die, it's going on mercari and I am getting a Garmin. What is the point of wearing it if it is not providing what you need? Waiting on black friday.

Like many others here my main complain about the new Fitbit app is the loss of battery percentage. Not only that, but the battery level is less precise and hidden under 2 clicks in the app (I just counted them). In the previous you just had to swipe to synchronize the watch and get the charge percentage at the same time.

I was used to synchronize the watch at least once a few hours before a long activity to be sure that the watch had enough power for the activity and that I had enough time to charge it properly. Now I go directly to the watch itself because it takes the same time to get the information from the app but at least the information on the watch is more precise.

So actually, when you contact Fitbit on X (TPFKAT The Platform Formerly Know As Twitter) about the hideous new app they tell you to contact customer service, for what? So it's not out in the open?

There is nothing customer service can change about this hideous new app that seems to be designed for toddlers, is in no way user-friendly and makes you wonder if the app designers are even Fitbit users.

The new app is a total downgrade from the previous one and if a friend asked me now if buying a Fitbit is recommended the answer would be "no".
I don't even think I will buy an other Fitbit for myself of one of my family members.

So, is there any way we can get back to the previous app, the one for grown ups?

Best Answer

Everyting more difficult.  I dont want to loose time analyzing what the uniluminated pseudo designer wanted to do.  Worst look and feel i have ever seen. Come back to previous, improve or  This is my last fitbit.   I really dont understand how Google could come up with this thing.

My Fitbit  failed in 1 year after warranty expiring, you offered  in USA a discount to buy again, which is ridiculous,  But I bought cheaper a new one in my country directly to fitbit.  and now this terrible app........ fitbit is out of track

If the golal is to kill fitbit, you will achieve the goal quickly!!!!

@Minette66 I was also advised to contact customer services so I emailed them only to receive an auto response saying 'we are not offering email support anymore' !!! They've washed their hands of their loyal customers and do not care whether we stay or go.

Best Answer

@Linz16  That's interesting to hear that they stopped email support.  They must be getting bombarded with emails that even their automated responses from machines cannot keep up.  What they are hoping for is new users of their products being higher than the users who will be leaving.  New users will get the new app interface and not realize everything Google has taken away and downgraded since their acquisition of Fitbit.
