There is an online chat. It looks like a person rather than a convincing bot.

I'm sure someone else has raised this already, but one of my personal irritations with the new app is it doesn't show me where on my run I hit each km marker. I found that helpful.

Hi @sadievanna - probably best to post in "The redesigned Fitbit app is rolling out!" topic in this forum along with the other unhappy users where you will see more fully the issues.

Unfortunately it would seem likely you are stuck with this version officially.

From another moderator on the site they are NOT going to be making any reinstatement or update to bring back previous features - here it is -

Not sure if this is good news or not.

Hi, longtime Fitbit user. The most recent iteration of the software app on my phone is just completely ridiculous. It's just so dysfunctional and quite frankly super ugly. Kind of resembles the design of the touchscreen at the hospital in the film, Idiocracy.

Is there a way to retrograde back to the old version, before all these visual changes that made the app far more difficult to navigate??

I'm not sure why you had to fuss with something that was working so well, almost doing an "iTunes" here.

I've now had three Fitbit charge 5's break on me and generally I'm just getting more and more disappointed with the direction Fitbit is headed.

Please advise if there is a way to retrograde the software.

With Regret,

Dahmooser

The app recently updated on me.

After a bit of 'fun' getting it back to the metric settings and kj instead of calories I noticed that the app no longer shows the maximum speed reached during a cycle.

I am pretty sure that the old app showed average speed and max speed reached. Yesterday the help person said that the app never showed max speed, so did I imagine it?  The watch itself still shows max speed when closing a bike session, but the fun off taking a screen shot with max speed isn't there.

Finally, I have pretty bad eyesight, seeing the percentage on the watch is tricky and it used to be much easier on the app. But that is gone too.

Im sitting here at 6:00 am unable to record morning exercise, because the stupid watch needs to be charged. Pre-update, I would have noticed the level last night, and would have charged it whilst watching the baseball game. Obnoxious.

I am glad to see that after a MONTH they finally acknowledged that this is a dumpster fire. That said, I am done with them. The irony of that post after blatant censorship on the forums is amusing. I was going to wait for the holidays but I am just over it. My premium is cancelled and I went shopping yesterday. That might not have happened but for the aggressive behavior right here in this forum.

@SunsetRunner  Both show 3.9 when I open your links up.  But still with over a million reviews to drop from a 4.0 to a 3.9 in less than a month is pretty significant.  Not enough to make Google or Fitbit care but the majority of new reviews are either a 2 or 1 based on the new app software.  Google/Fitbit are just going to wait it out because all new users don't know how good the app was at the beginning of this year before Google started downgrading it with their updates.  They are relying on adding more new users than their loss of existing customers.

@waynecz  Ahhh Google must know where you are 😁 At the beginning of September I think it was 4.5

Sort of humorously, I got email:
>You can now move Fitbit to your Google Account

Only that's not true. I've tried several times, get errors. Chatted with support, who said "Create a new Google account". Why should I do that? My main Google account is what my phone runs on. Makes no sense. Plus if that's a common error, why didn't the error say that? This all feels very slapdash and hacked together. More reasons pushing us off to another platform...

Apparently Google has determined that they are going to lose or have lost too many customers and are bringing back some of the features taken away.    https://community.fitbit.com/t5/The-Pulse-Fitbit-Community-Blog/Your-Feedback-Matters-Updates-coming...

This is good news but its also sad that they pushed the envelope and have lost a lot of long time Fitbit users for good.

I guess when they say that the "Updates Coming Soon", they aren't lying.  From the screen shot in the post it looked like the battery percentage was back, Went and updated the app to v4.2.  Still no battery percent.  Other than the version number, I'm not sure what exactly was changed.  I thought my premium subscription was up next month and was going to make sure it was not renewed but looks like they have until March.  Maybe by Ver 5.0, they will get it right.  If not, it will be 2 years since I got my sense and time will be right up upgrade to a different vendor.

Hello @dahmooser

Unfortunately, there isn't a way to revert back to the previous version of the Fitbit app. However, yesterday (16 Oct 2023), there was an announcement regarding updates coming. Click here to read the announcement: Updates to Fitbit app coming soon

I'm really disappointed in this update. The screen design is a step backwards. It is annoying to have to scroll for info that used to appear in one place. It's all so bland. I love your device but my husband's device gives him better views of his information in an easier to read format. If this interface doesn't improve before Christmas i guess my next upgrade will be to switch brands.

Dated. That's exactly the right word.
