Hello everyone!

I would like to announce that the redesigned Fitbit app starts rolling out today! This new app will help you reach your goals, and bring the health and wellness information right on hand.

Check out our latest blog for how to get the most out of the new app.

Note: Please be patient if you don't see the update right away, as it will take some time to roll out completely.

Happy stepping!

I contacted Fitbit and having concluded I'd tried all the usual off and on, unpair etc they offered me a replacement product. I wasn't convinced it would work, but it seems enough updates had been run on the replacement to rectify the sync issue.  I'm still stuck with the inferior app, but at least 3 days in it seems to be working. Does make me wonder if the updated was only tested in latest versions of products. I have a reasonably new versa 3, but not a versa 4...

@KJ08 Replacements are in factory condition. Fitbit doesn't run updates on them. You get updates on your end.

It ran a few updates when it arrived and seems to working. The one I had before seemed to be getting progressively worse and was only 2-3 months old.

This update is total garbage. Finally ditching Fitbit after 6 years - this was the last straw.

Only way to go! I ditched Fitbit in early October. Now have an Apple Watch. Good luck with whatever you choose.

Same! I have wasted so much time every day, trying to get my Fitbit to sync. What’s the fix Fitbit?

I did too… too bad… I was with Fitbit for almost 10 years, Premium user. Man Google you blew it!!

The old app version display was useful and simple.  The new app version display is horrible.  I want heart rate minutes to be dominant not steps.  I’ve even deleted steps from my preferences and they still show.  I used to be able to correct my sleep start or stop time when the app had it wrong and it would adapt, but now it just wipes out my score for the day when I correct the start or stop time.  Did anyone validate these changes with actual users?

I think if we manually add an activity in the app it should actually show
up in activity. Instead, my fitbit is broken so I'm adding in the app
everyday since last Sunday and it gives me steps and distance yet shows no
activity.

Utterly ridiculous.

I absolutely dislike the "new" update. It's not pleasant to look at, use, or locate workouts.

The update has made the app so drab and completely unappealing to use.

I honestly don't understand why you would want to change the bright, easy to use platform you had? Then try to market THIS platform as an upgrade? It makes no sense to me whatsoever.

From a marketing standpoint, I have to say, this will most likely not be all that great for you. Your customers need to enjoy the app and find it to THEIR liking. According to all of the replies here, which state exactly what I wanted to say, the customers are not happy with the new update.

Please change the app back, or at the least, add some brightness to it and bring back the battery tracker.

Yes, it resolved itself—but has been replaced by other issues. This has been the pattern with the app. It will no longer synch automatically and there’s no longer a readiness score. I’ve followed all the suggestions and nothing fixed these issues. Tomorrow it will be something else.

Hello everyone!

How nice to be back and read all the many, many, many new comments! I thought, OK I will just give this new app a chance and see if I can get used to it.

Unfortunately I am here to report that it is still absolute rubbish!! I've given it a fair chance. In addition to the things I didn't like at the start, other things have come to light that I didn't notice at the beginning.

1. The 'menstrual health' tile has remained blank since the update, it just says 'no data available', yet when you click into the detail all my data from the last few years is there. This tile is supposed to tell you what cycle day you are on eg 'you are on cycle day 4 of 29' or whatever. May as well get rid of this tile if it doesn't work.

2. To see whether your sleep quality was poor/good/excellent etc. you have to click on the tile, then click on each individual day. So you can't see at a glance anymore how your last night's sleep was, or view trends as you can only see one day at a time.

I've logged both of these with Fitbit 'support' but no reply. So in summary, I am even less happy a month on than I was after the update.

The dismissive contempt from Fitbit staff continues, with them insinuating that we must all be stupid if we can't see how wonderful the app is now. Awful experience all round.

And where is battery life level? Not good at all.

It is so awful I can’t stand to use it. I’ve been a Fitbit user for many years and won’t be anymore.

I totally agree, the new design looks more like something out of the 90's and only allows for the most basic operations. Functionality and user interface are key to the success of any app, the new design leaves a lot to be desired in both aspects. If I wanted an app like this to accompany my device I would have purchased a knockoff device. If fitbit did this to drive subscriptions to the premium version I wish them luck. My Versa II only lasted 2 years so I bought a new one 6 months back, so when this one dies I will look at other options knowing the fitbit app itself now lacks the functionality I desire.

Here's another issue: my Fitbit never used to run out of battery because the app always let me know when it was low. It has fully run out twice now without me realising, once when I was on a trip away and therefore couldn't charge it. It's super frustrating.
