Hello everyone!

I would like to announce that the redesigned Fitbit app starts rolling out today! This new app will help you reach your goals, and bring the health and wellness information right on hand.

Check out our latest blog for how to get the most out of the new app.

Note: Please be patient if you don't see the update right away, as it will take some time to roll out completely.

Happy stepping!

I hate it. The old design really pushed me to fill the bubble and now I can't even tell when I've met my goals. I wish I could get the old one back.

This app redesign is awful. The interface is now more difficult to use because everything looks the same and has low visual variability, not to mention its visually unappealing. The usability of the app is much worse now and I wish I could revert to the previous version.

But not on one page like it used to be

Wow, the new app sucks on so many levels. I build and test software for a living, but don’t want to do this work for Fitbit for free. The Fitbit development team should instead read the feedback from other users. One tip: Hire professionals to rewrite your app instead of your nephew, the summer intern, or whoever botched this. I will definitely be looking at other manufacturers when it’s time to upgrade this device.

I completely agree! I used that feature every time I was charging my fitbit! This is my most frustrating complaint...so far.....why would they remove that?? Beyond frustrated.

Yes, please! I would like the answer to this too!

That is an awful, imprecise way to check battery level !!! Please change!!!!!!!

Agreed! Much needed feature!!!

How do I find Wellness Report. Previously I clicked on the premium dotted arrow on my app, I can't find that, nor anything like it, nor any written hints for where to look - very frustrated.

Google, having problems with proper data representation? Hire me!

Because I can explain you a thing about graphs and scaling. Then I look at this utterly useless and outright wrong data representation in your 2D graphs of your (with much fanfare touted) re-designed App it seems you have seriously intellectual problems to comprehend what such a graph should do with the user data and how it should look like, particular on the Y axis (this is the vertical axes by the way for your UI/UX designer) typical you don't make your graphical representation smaller (as you did) smaller then your data range is getting bigger aka you want the average user understand your data not hiding data.

And before you come up with an excuse e.g. logarithmic scale, not it isn't because you don't have the base of 10. It's just a scale you made up by yourself and it's wrong on any account.

Maybe also helpful top hire UI/UX designer that at least passed the math class at elementary school, just as a thought.

Gone stupid decision

Problem in a nutshell. I have no interest in water intake, so have it switched off. Different things are important to different people. "Nanny knows best" seems to have been replaced by "Google knows best".

This change to the Fitbit dashboard is absolutely dreadful. It's not an upgrade it's a downgrade. It's difficult to see particularly if you are visually impaired,  the colors are Bland and having to scroll up and down all the time it's really irritating.  There is no option to return to the orevious dashbood. There are Critical bits of information now missing such as the battery level. I'm already looking for alternative replacement for Fitbit because I need to be able to see my data easily. Very disappointed with Fitbit/Google.

The look of the new app is bland.  Not user friendly and I have cancelled my premium subscription.  Going to look for a new tracker having seen comment from Fitbit that they aren’t going back to the old format.  If the update was intended to make users leave its succeeding.

Way too much white space - spaced out icons/data.

Very washed out look to icons, etc is not as easy to take in the info.

Swim lengths missing.

SYNC SHOULD NOT REQUIRE LOCATION PERMISSION - REMOVE.........

I think this is one of the most egregious missteps in the UI design as it distorts and misrepresents user health metrics.

I've seen thus "endumbening" tendency in a lot of UI design over the years, a move towards concealing numbers and stats behind touch-feely design, rendering is deceptive and practically useless.

As an ex Maths teacher, I'd have failed a student for scaling an axis like that. As a product PM I would not have allowed that through Quality Assurance or allowed the app to release unless it was fixed. It's either a bug caused by someone attempting a logarithmic scale and somehow getting it wrong, or someone who just through intellectual rigour out the window...
