Hello everyone!
I would like to announce that the redesigned Fitbit app starts rolling out today! This new app will help you reach your goals, and bring the health and wellness information right on hand.
Check out our latest blog for how to get the most out of the new app.
Note: Please be patient if you don't see the update right away, as it will take some time to roll out completely.
Happy stepping!
Check your phone's settings, and check the play store for an auto update setting.
I know Google added one to the Play store. It's under the 3 dots next to the search bar at the top of page, when you go to the Fitbit app page.
If either is on, you're getting the update.

Hi all, probably best to post in "The redesigned Fitbit app is rolling out!" topic in the appropriate iOS or Android app forums along with the other unhappy users where you will see more fully the issues.
Unfortunately it would seem likely you are stuck with this version officially. Though there may be some tweaks over time already mentioned there. This could take months to get this test version to anywhere near how the previous version was.

Best AnswerThis is utterly inacceptable. Google, we know you are the almighty corporation, and you care for us a little bit less than the last year's snowfall statistics in the Sahara, but still you surely do not exist in a vacuum.
Your contempt for your users is really mind-boggling.
I am so terribly sorry to ever buy a product of yours.
Never again.
Unbelievably, I installed the 'old' but better Fitbit app. Unchecked 'Enable auto-update". Got the new Fitbit app anyway. So Google AND Fitbit are screwing their clients!
Ah yes, you need to uncheck that but you need to also uncheck the overall update apps as well.
The user interface is awful, but have noticed the broken functions, like food intake logging and Strava sync? This is what elevates this app from terrible to unusable.
Because the new app stinks. It installed by itself on my phone and wiped my entire history, and now it does not show the maps anymore. I went out on a run today, made sure my Charge 5 had GPS active, came back, synced my Charge 5, and NOTHING. No map no nothing. Just a bunch of heartrate statistics which are absolutely worthless without the map.
I suppose they moved the mapping into the paid premium app. Bye by fitbit I'll never buy another one of your products.
The fitbit app in Google store lacks the 3 dots. Other apps in Play Store do have the 3 dots
You would think Fitbit would want to go back to what actually worked for their customers. But I'm guessing they got a huge amount of money from google and bye bye to Fitbit customers.
Yeah, you could say Fitbit got a lot of money from Google.
Google bought Fitbit back in 2019 for a little over 2 billion dollars.
There is no Fitbit.
Fitbit is Google.
@TedMittelstaedt I just blocked all automatic updates on my phone. Then just select from the ones available when notified. My fitbit app version is several behind the latest one. I just don't update it.
