So I've had the Fitbit Charge 3 for a couple of months now and - in all this time - the device has probably sync'd with my phone 3 or 4 times. I've ready various forum posts and tried numerous "solutions". Previously I could use the reset trick (plug Fitbit into charger and hold button for ~5sec) and that seemed to do the trick but no more).
All the tricks do not work and I'm stuck with a device which now no longer even tells the correct time. Come on, Fitbit, please sort it out! Your reputation is being serious damaged by this issue. As it stands I very much doubt I'd by any Fitbit again (there are too many alternatives out there now).
Update:
I tried syncing to my Mac performing the following steps:
1) Turned bluetooth off my phone (so that the Fitbit wouldn't get confused)
2) Downloaded and installed Fitbit Connect on my Mac
3) Ran Fitbit Connect.
From this I got the following:
Finding Device -> Syncing With Device -> "An Error Occurred while Syncing!" An unknown error occurred!
Tried restarting/resetting the device but it still happens. What interesting is that it has synced to this account several times previously so I don't believe it's an Android issue rather than a hardware/firmware issue on the Fitbit side.
For reference, I have a Samsung Galaxy S8 with Android 8.0.

@JonathanWebb Welcome! Thanks for being part of our Community! Sorry to hear that your tracker isn't syncing with your phone and thank you for troubleshooting this issue. Your phone doesn't show as compatible but that doesn’t mean it won’t work it just means that it hasn’t been tested by our team. You can try going to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there. Restart your phone and restart your device. After this try syncing them. Also, if you are using an Android device, check that your app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions) and make sure bluetooth and location services (GPS) are on. You can find additional suggestions here.
Let me know how it goes.
