Unable to see food logs for future dates

I typically make all my lunches for the week on Sunday and log it in the app at that time. I think toward the end of May there was an app update that no longer shows the future dates which I have logged food for. I don't see anything in the logs for 3.59.1 that would indicate this was an intentional change to the functionality of the app. I have restarted my phone on numerous occasions and have not seen any difference.

For example: Prior to the update on May 19, if the date was May 8th, I could see the calories I had logged for May 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, and 13th. After the update, if the date was June 5th, I could not see the calories I had logged for June 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th.

Hello @Crimexturtle

Apparently this is a current known issue at this time that is being addressed by the Fitbit Team. You can read more about it here: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Android-App/Nutrients-summary-shows-incorrect-data/m-p/5153778#M1565.... I would join that thread as it would be there where tips and possible solutions to the issue would be addressed. Hopefully the issue will be fixed and addressed in a future update quickly.
😉 I wish I could offer more assistance but I hope pointing you in the right direction helps in someway.

Thank you @SunsetRunner! I did see that thread yesterday before posting but it seemed to be a different issue. Thanks for the clarification.

Your so very welcome @Crimexturtle ! 😃 it seems the data is incorrect so it doesn’t surprise me that the dates are wrong as well. Other issues regarding the items in the Food tile are being discussed here: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Android-App/Fitbit-app-not-tracking-food-and-calories-intake/td-p/51.... I think there multiple issues going on at once.

I am still seeing this issue after the 3.63 update. I have food logged on future dates, but I can still not see it on the app.

Online, showing food logged for future date:

App, not showing food logged on future dates.

This was working prior to May 19th.

I tend to log my lunches a week at a time because I meal plan. Not being able to see future dates make it difficult to determine which dates I have already logged on.

Yup, I've noticed this. With the most recent app update you cannot log days in the future. It doesn't show up. Also I've noticed if you've changed anything in your food log what will appear on your dashboard in the app will be incorrect. For example I put 1395 in "Anytime calories" and now my calories logged shows up at 0. Food log is broken all over again.

any news on this @LizzyFitbit?

We used to be able to plan food a day or two in advanced. Now that feature seems to have disappeared? We can log the food but can't see the entries until midnight the next day.... It doesn't make any sense.

How do we meal prep if we can't see our food logs for the days ahead? We can't see the total calories planned. What happened?

Hi everyone, and welcome to our new member.

@Crimexturtle, @SunsetRunner and @jewie27 Thanks for your efforts while working on this matter, as well as the screenshots provided. I'm sorry you're having issues with the food log on the Fitbit app. In order to further investigate what may be occurring, please provide me with the following information:

  • What is the model and OS version of your phone?
  • Is the Fitbit app updated to 3.63 or higher?
  • Even though your future food logs don't show up, do they appear on the graph on the Fitbit app?
  • Have you also tried logging food for future dates at fitbit.com to see if they appear on the Fitbit app?

@SunsetRunner Thanks for your great help!

I can log for the next day but can't see the food or calories entered. I
only see the graph.

Used to be able to log food in advance (meal planning for the week). With new updates you can no longer access any food log that has been made in advance until you reach that day.

@LizzyFitbit

I have a Motorolla moto g stylus (2021) running Android 11. Fitbit version 3.64.5 is installed. Future foods do appear on the graphs (although my complaints about the new graphs are a whole different issue; I find them less functional than before)

During the food logging issues that were originally fixed with 3.63, I was logging all food from the website. The habit has stuck and I can still not see future logged food anywhere outside of the graphs.

Versa 3,  added breakfast but won't add figures from lunch or dinner. They show on the app but are not adding onto my calories.  Any ideas?

Hi @jewie27 and @Crimexturtle@Pixie086 Welcome on board.

Thanks for getting back with the requested information. I understand how frustrating this has been for you and I'm sorry for the inconvenience this has caused. As you may know, our team started rolling out a new version for the Fitbit app. This update is being released progressively, so if you don't see it yet, check the Play Store later.

Once you have it available, update the Fitbit app and try logging your food on future dates to see how it goes. If the issue persists, don't hesitate to let me know so I can investigate on my end.

@LizzyFitbit what is the updated version of the app we should be expecting?

My phone is currently using 3.65.1. I still cannot see future logged food anywhere outside of the graphs; this occurs for logged food from the app and from the website.

I've had the same problem for months. Just updated to version 3.66, still can't see food added for future dates (aside from the graphs).

@LizzyFitbit I just updated to 3.66. I still cannot see future logged food anywhere outside of the graphs. Again, this occurs for logged food from the app and the website.

@LizzyFitbit any new updates on this? Has there been a defect identified yet and/or a plan to resolve? Its getting frustrating following up about every week to week and a half, and being told to take a code upgrade just to see if its fixed. It feels like I am doing the development testing for Fitbit rather than having an actual test engineer do the job.
