Unable to sync Alta

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Alta did not sync with the Fitbit app for 2 days this past week, and sometimes Fitbit app tells me device not found when it is sitting right next to it. Both my phone and Fitbit app were upgraded this week. There is no button on my Fitbit Alta to be able to reboot. How can I retrieve those 2 days? Thanks.

Hi @Dreame23, welcome to the Community Forums!

Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the details that were shared in your post. If you haven't already done so, I recommend you to check how the syncing procedure works here and see if there's a missing requirement on your Android mobile device that's preventing the syncing procedure to be completed.

Then, you can move forward to the troubleshooting steps that are specified on: Why won't my Fitbit device sync? and let me know how it goes.

Keep me posted, I'll be around if you need anything else.

Thanks for your reply and update @Dreame23, my apologies for the delay in responding your post.

I'm happy to know that the information finally appeared. For the syncing difficulties you're experiencing, could you please let me know which mobile device are you using? Please make sure that your phone's Android version and Fitbit app version are up to date.

Looking forward to your reply.

My Fitbit Alta is connected to my Samsung S8. I find that every once in a
while my steps don't sync. If I reboot my phone, it helps and the steps
appear a little while later. I have had my Fitbit Alta for about a year
and this is a new occurrence. Hope this information helps you.

Your update is appreciated @Dreame23, sorry for the delayed replies.

I appreciate the details that were shared with me, certainly your Alta is not syncing steps as the way it was designed. That said, please try the following steps and let me know if the issue persists:

  1. Restart your Fitbit.
  2. Please on the phone, go to Settings > Bluetooth, and remove all the connections that exist with the device. (Forget device, ignore or unpair depending on the version of the operating system of the phone).
  3. Turn off the Bluetooth and restart the phone. (Switch off and on again).
  4. When the mobile device is back on, turn the Bluetooth on again but do not attempt to connect to the Fitbit from here.
  5. Go on the app and try setting up the Fitbit as a new device.

I'll be around, don't hesitate to ask me any additional questions you may have.
