Unable to sync with Charge 3 and Samsung Note 5

Every time I try to pair my Fitbit to my phone, it keeps saying Make sure your device is visible to other devices. It’s literally right next to my phone. It can’t get any closer to my phone to sync

Hello @SunsetRunner, welcome to the Community Forums!

First, I appreciate your effort and patience for troubleshooting this situation prior to posting, I totally understand how frustrating this matter can be for you. If you haven't already done so, I recommend you to check how the syncing procedure works here and see if there's a missing requirement on your Android mobile device that's preventing the syncing procedure to be completed.

Then, you can move forward to the troubleshooting steps that are specified on: Why won't my Fitbit device sync? and let me know how it goes.

Keep me posted, I'll be around if you need anything else.

Here is another user, that until 24th Jan 2020 was fully OK, but after APP update there is no way to make the Charge 3 to sync with my HTC M9. Even the sync end merges with update of app, as the last sync was indicated to be @24th Jan, 01:24. And now, after several restarts and finaly removing device from profile, there is no way to get it attached back to profile, as the app finds the tracker, but cannot connect. Even that the both are next to each other and bluetooth search indicates that Charge 3 is available for pairing.

Hi @Pichus, welcome to the Community Forums!

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. First, I'd like to let you know that the HTC M9 is not listed as a compatible device with our products and services, therefore, we cannot ensure that such mobile device will work as expected with our products and services due to Android, Fitbit app and device updates.

Even though your phone is not compatible, I recommend you to check all the information that's specified on: How do I set up my Fitbit device? and then try the troubleshooting steps of our help article: Why can't I set up my Fitbit device?

Let me know if you have any additional questions.

Well, until the day it stoped syncing, it must have been compatible, and this year it became not. It's an android 7.0 phone, thus simple admit, that someone screwed up some ugly update thus making several hundreds of Charge 3 units costing ~150€ in to nice useless decoration.

Fact is that the way how the app behaves while trying to find the tracker is in all versions same, thus it means it connects and makes some data exchange with you - the mothership. Same behavior in version 3.13, asfor example 3.0. Means that not my device is bad, but your firm and software upgrade.

And yeah, it aņounces, that it finds the tracker, shows conecting..., but never makes it to do, and offers 3 things - verify that the thing is on, no other trcker is near and switch BT off-on. 5 kazilion times did that. Still no success. Think i will trade in as defective and switch to Amazfit or similar.
