I tried to sync my phone to my fitbit it kept telling me to update ...update what I just got it!

@Lindad314, even if it is a new tracker, it needs to update the firmware on the tracker.  While the tracker is near your phone, click on the link to update the firmware so that the app can download the new firmware and install it.  After the firmware update is finished, be sure to restart your tracker to ensure it loads the new firmware correctly.
