Any ideas when the S9 will be an option for the Versa?  Specifically looking at texts, etc. notifications on the Versa.

Hi there @lhilke, welcome to the Fitbit Community. Thank you for your participation and my apologies for the late response. We hope to expand our compatible list in the future, but currently don't have a timeline for expansion; usually new devices are listed without previous notice.

Fitbit is compatible with more than 200 of the most popular Android, iOS and Windows mobile devices. The full list of compatible devices with confirmed compatibility can be found at fitbit.com/devices. If a device isn’t listed it doesn’t mean it won’t work with a Fitbit tracker or smartwatch.

We routinely test new devices to ensure full compatibility with Fitbit devices and the Fitbit App, and are constantly working to confirm compatibility with new phone models. A majority of Android phones running version 4.4 or higher will work with our products, however we cannot guarantee optimal performance on devices for which we have not tested and confirmed compatibility.

If you are having troubles with notifications, it would not hurt to give it a try to these suggestions: My Fitbit device isn't receiving notifications from my phone.

See you later and stay tuned for future updates.

You gave me the same template answer on the same question/complaint I had with my blaze. That was around two weeks ago and still no type of update.

Yup, I can even reply to text messages with it. I had to turn on that as an option in the Fitbit app not on the watch itself.

Hi there @SunsetRunner and @Sarahe82, welcome aboard to the Fitbit Community and thank you for your feedback @DarthBalrog.

The functionality of the trackers and watches in relation to the Samsung S9, is that the app may not present a steady behavior, being the common issues the text notifications based on the feedback provided by our users.

@DarthBalrog you are correct this is the same response and my apologies for not being able to provide any additional details that could offer you a viable solution. This is all the information as moderators we have at the moment, rest assured we'll continue to be on the search for more updates on these concerns, as I understand this situation may result frustrating.

See you later.

Does the GPS work without being near your s9? I want to work out and not have to carry my phone to listen to music.  I'm having trouble connecting to the Pandora three the Fitbit app.

Yes, it shows you the same info as you get on your phone. So if it's linked to their contact it says John Smith or whatever and if it's not it shows their username

How do you make it compatible.. from what I heard it depends.. I have the Samsung galaxy s9+

On my Samsung Galaxy 9+ I get no notifications and the syncing is occasional and incomplete at best.  I am concluding that the Versa and Android app are not compatible.  It synced only my steps this morning (9/14) for the first time in more than a week, but has not synced any activity since 9/1.  Also, does not want to connect with WiFi.  It works fine on my wrist and counts my steps, but that's about it.  I have tried the many fixes reported in the Community, but they do not work or don't last.  I hope Fitbit updates their app for more current phones.

I was about to send my 30-day old Versa in for a warranty replacement, but tried a factory reset as a final effort.  After setting up, the Versa seems to be working properly now--syncing and notifications.  I am not sure why it stopped syncing or connecting to bluetooth and wifi, but keeping my fingers crossed it will be reliable.

After the last firmware update my Versa was not syncing with my S9. I went through ALL of the troubleshooting steps and they finally sent me a new one under the 1 year warranty .

I connected it to my phone this morning for the first time and worked like a charm .Then I did the firmware update and got no less than 4 errors . It has to do with the firmware because before this last update they did mine has been working perfectly from about May to late August .

Best of luck to you, hope they fix it soon!

Is the Fitbit versa compatible  with Samsung S9+

I have the Fitbit Charge 2 and it worked wonderfully with my Samsung S7.  A month ago I got the S9 and it will not sync with the charge 2.  I called Samsung because with the S7 there was a setting I had to change in order to get text messages.  The guy at Samsung told me the S9 is not compatible with any Fitbit products.  Wish I had researched this before I traded my phone
