I took my first hike since installing v2.88 and after completing the hike I noticed that the hiking map is now gone. This also takes away the elevation chart from the Dashboard. Is this by design? If so, this is a step backwards.

Hello @VeganDan, thank you for sharing this information about your hiking map and elevation chart not showing.
Please check if this only happened with one activity, or if you continue to experience the same with all your hiking activities. I've seen this happen when there are some places on my route where GPS was not activated on my phone, so before I begin the activity, I make sure to check if I can see GPS is working and connected.
Also, if you're not able to see the map in the Fitbit app, you can try the steps here below as well:
I hope this helps, please keep me posted.
Best AnswerI just took a hike, as well as a walk right after. Before each activity, I
made sure that the GPS was connected, see screenshot. Neither activity
produced a map. Before leaving the house, I restarted my phone, force
stopped the app, and cleared the cache. The only difference between now
and when everything worked is the newer app version
