Voice cues worked fine with my Charge HR connected to Samsung Galaxy 4. Got a Galaxy 6 and voice cues no longer work. Try reinstalling app, rebooting phone, rebooting Fitbit, off and on Bluetooth, plus other settings. Nothing I tried works. I turn voice cues on and set time to 5 minutes and start tracking. If I turn cues off and then back on, the voice announced cue back on but still does not announce every 5 minutes. What is wrong? Is the company working on this problem?

Contacted tech support and they had me try several things but nothing corrected the voice cue issue. They opened a problem ticket. They got back with me two day ago with the following suggestion.

In order to further assist you we recommend you to install MobileTrack which is a 3rd party application that will allow you to use voice cues in a better way. If you have not already done so, please read the following help article which has information about MobileTrack, including set up instructions http://fitbit.link/MobileTrack.

I responded with the following.
. I followed the set up instructions for MobileTrack. It did not give me an option "No Fitbit Yet" when adding a new device. I removed my HR Charge from devices and tried again but still no option of "No Fitbit Yet". I uninstalled and reinstalled the Fitbit app and again no option to select "No Fitbit Yet". I even tried to set up a new device on my iPad but it did no give me the "No Fitbit Yet" option. I have a Samsung Galaxy 6 so I tried with my wife's iPhone but no option to set up MobileTrack. I checked compatible devices so it should work.

I'm sure they are still working on a solution since a number of users have the same issue. I may be some other app on my phone is interfering with the voice cues. I hope this can be resolved.

I received the following January 26.
Have you tried to restart your phone and then restart the app? If you havent done this we recommend to do it
We look forward for your response.
My response.
Thank you for your reply. The following is what I have tried.
Tried reinstalling app, rebooting phone, rebooting Fitbit, off and on Bluetooth, changed text to speech from Samsung to Google and back again, made sure Fitbit Notification Service is on, made sure volume was set to high level for all services plus other settings. Nothing I tried works. During a thirty minute walk and the voice cues set for every 5 minutes, it has announced only once. This makes me believe something is interfering with the voice cues and not any settings.

Trialled getting prompted every 500 metres and it actually worked. Will swap to trying every 5 minutes again and let you know how it goes.

@SunsetRunner @Dwight123 @Alfiesmummy As some time has passed since you last mentioned that your Voice Cues were not functioning as intended, can you confirm if this issue has been resolved for you with an app update or if you're still experiencing issues?

If you're still experiencing issues, please answer the following questions:

  1. What mobile device are you using?
  2. What Android OS version are you running? (Android 5.1.1, 6.0 etc?)
  3. Which app version are you running (go to menu > Help, to find out)
  4. Are distance based cues not working?
  5. Are time based cues not working?

Hope to hear from you soon!

Basically this is not going to be correctly until more users complain. This is what I was told. Set your app for distance and not time. Should work with distance.

Didn't work for me, but I didn't tried all the distances so I have no choise but try it till it work (or not).
