Just wondering if the Fitbit app experts have tried solving the bug by process of elimination? So keep going back one older version at a time until you find one that doesn't keep crashing. Then look at what has been added from there in the next version onwards. Eliminate each new update to see if that fixes the problem.

Here is a clue:
If you log out, then log back in the next day, it works and doesn't crash. It only crashes when you don't log out first.

I understand that.. It makes it hard to sync all day and keep up with challenges. It is a quick fix. Should be able to stay logged on all day. Before the update it was fine no problems.

Hey! I've found that if you log out of the app on your phone then you don't
get the problem of the white screen of death. You have to log in to the
app next time you want to use it, but that's better than uninstalling and
reinstalling the whole thing.
cheers
@cryptic4075 @PixiePuss Thanks for suggesting a workaround!
For anyone who is still experiencing this app crash, you can log yourself out of the app before closing it to avoid the white screen. As previously noted, I will update this thread once there is a fix available. Thanks for your patience! Will keep you all posted.

@PixiePuss, I have rolled back to v 2.49 on my phone and that works fine. So the problem must be in update 2.50 or later.
I actually posted instructions on how to roll back to 2.49 in this forum yesterday, but a Fitbit forum moderator removed it, telling me I was violating the community guidelines (!). Presumably because there was a link to an external site.
So perhaps a Fitbit moderator can instead post instructions for rolling back to 2.49. It would make a lot of people on this forum happy and would be a temporary fix while we wait for the update that solves this problem.
Fitbit app v 2.49 has been working for me without problems.

Reading through all the comments it seems to be an issue mainly for those of us using Oppo phones..
I'd like to find a solution that does not involve having to log out or uninstall/ reinstall the app..
Has Fitbit worked out a solution to the problem yet?

Yes. I am using oppo phone.
😞
Try uninstall and install not helping.
BTW I try clear data everytime I hit the white screen issue. Quicker than uninstall.

Fitbit has told me my oppo is not supported therefore the app crashes... Funny how it worked for several months perfectly before the update.

Yap, my oppo works for months.
Come to think of it. I did an OS update few weeks ago. That is before the white screen problem.
Also my friend who is using Samsung doesn't have the problem.
😞
