My app and tracker had an update yesterday and I haven't been able to sync them since. I have restarted my phone already. It says it's not connecting. Should I delete my tracker and reinstall? I have an Alta and Samsung Galaxy S5

How do you reset your tracker? My fitbit isn't syncing and I don't know how to do that!!

Almeidac- I have the alta. There is a button on the charging cord. U push 3 times within 8 seconds pausing between pushes. Then the fitbit logo will pop up on the tracker, it's reset. I'm not sure how to reset the other types.

I had similar problem with the update (for the Charge 2).

What worked for me was to force my phone to unpair (forgot) the fitbit, under the Bluetooth setting.

After that, the Fitbit app was able to synchronize again.

I hope this can help more people. Regards.

I was having the same problem for the past couple of days .... restarting my phone didn't help. I finally went into my "devices" through the app & did a force sync. It didn't work the 1st time, but I tried again & it worked. I have the Charge HR. I just wanted to post in case this might help someone.

Push the small button on the charger the times within eight seconds. The charger must be hooked up to the computer or an outlet as well as your fitbit. I have done this several times and it hasn't worked. I finally contacted customer service and they're replacing my fitbit

I just tried to reset my Alta and it just wiped the battery down to nothing ... so I can't even check if resetting worked. *keeping my fingers crossed that after this charge up it will connect!*

Hello everyone. I am sorry to hear that you have been having issues syncing over with your Android devices. I see that a couple of users have been able to sync back with a couple of steps.

@Mamabeargetsfit it seems that restarting your device was what did it for you. Since it seems you do not all have the same tracker you can look how to restart any of the different models in this help article. This would be my recommendation for a first step.

I also advise you check on this article by @RickyFitbit for all things related to Android I'm sure it will be useful. Now if you have Android 6.0 Marshmallow then there is a couple more specific steps that can help you solve any syncing trouble you might have.

For all of you visiting the Community for the first time I would like to welcome you.

Keep me posted of anything new or if you have further suggestions or questions.

See you all around!

I have the Alta ... I have to reset it, wait 5 minutes, reset again and then it will sync... once. I'm stuck to basically only syncing once or twice a day rather than an "all day sync". I "upgraded" from the Charge ... I'm really disappointed.

I had an android system update and my One hasn't synced since the 12 of Sept. Can't get it to sync with my computer either. Part of it the problem is the app is owned requiring that you identify your locarion, which I keep off. However even when I have it turned on it won't sync.

Plug your fitbit into the charger.  On the charger there is a button. Press it 3 times with about 2 seconds in between presses.  You will see the fitbit logo in about 8 seconds after the 3 presses.

My Alta is now syncing. I spent about half an hour on the online chat with a tech from Fitbit who walked me through a whole bunch of steps to fix my issue.  They were great!  I searched online for ways to fix the issue myself and nothing worked.  I highly recommend the online chat!!!

Thanks for the suggestions. Deleting my other Bluetooth items didn't work. I am traveling and don't have my charger so I will try that when I get home. Ifor that doesn't work, I will call the chat folks. Thanks again!

I have recently updated the app and I'm having problems syncing now as well. My work just started a Fitbit challenge which goes for 47 days, we are at day 1. Does anyone know if I lose my data if I restart my fitbit? I might have to look at rolling back a version of the Fitbit app.
