Hi folks

I have been having an issue with my charge 2 the past few days. I have android on a Samsung S9 for reference.

Basically I can no longer track bike rides as my charge 2 loses connection with my phone a few moments after the screen locks. I have scoured my phone double checking any and all settings relating to fitbit and also blue tooth, ensuring that it is allowed to run in the background, that battery optimisation cannot disconnect it, that all my location settings are turned on correctly etc.
I had no luck there on those settings. I have also reset the fitbit when its plugged in charging, forgot it on the bluetooth then restarted my phone and added it back, even re-installed the app, still with no joy.

I am at my wits end with this, I do not have connectivity issues with anything else. Can any one shed any light on something I might be missing?

Kind regards
Phill

Accepted Solutions

As would be typical asking for help I solved it myself. Process was:

delete the charge 2 from the app
clear the app data and cache

uninstall the app

I checked it was unpaired from the bluetooth as well

then reinstall everything fromt he ground up.

Hello @Naunak ,

good for you that you've been able to solve the problem by yourself. Just in case the problem occurs again soon: It seems very likely that you're affected by an ongoing issue with the connected GPS feature (mostly seen with Samsung phones). See this thread for more info: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Android-App/S10e-s-GPS-Turning-Off/m-p/3452219

I'm afraid we'll all have to wait until Fitbit comes up with a fix. At least you now know that it is most probably not your own fault 😉

Removing the tracker, will not make the GPS work while the phone is off.

Check your power management and make sure the phone is not set to manage the Fitbit app. If Fitbit is under control of the power management, then a few seconds after the screen turns off, the Fitbit app will be put to sleep and GPS will stop.

Thanks Bemshaswing, I was getting worried that was the issue. Thankfully it has so far been working without issue since I got it going again, lets hope it stays that way
