Fitbit Update 04/19/2018:  Hi everyone - Thanks so much for patiently waiting while we released a fix. I'm happy to report we started rolling out Fitbit for Android version 2.70 yesterday, on 4/18. Each new app version is slowly released, so if you don't see it available in the Google Play store yet, it will be there shortly. This app version contains the fix, so please update!

If you continue to see the "Do not Disturb" error message after updating, please let me know. I would like to receive confirmation from you all that this app version really did fix it.

Thanks for all your help!

Hi, Android users!

Thanks for reporting this Do not Disturb Error notification with the Fitbit app. We have escalated this to our team for investigation. If I need more information from you all, I'll make sure to ask and update this thread. Thanks for your help!

There is an issue with the last fitbit app, when the phone is on silent mode the dnd mode gets triggered im sure this will get fixed very soon.

Best Answer

It appears that Silent mode is perceived by fitbit as a DND setting. Switching the phone settings to Vibrate or Sound should fix the problem.

I know is not a long term solution. But we managed in this topic to identify the cause. It is up to the fitbit engineers to fix the problem in an upcoming update.

thanks for the tip to put the phone on vibrate to get phone notifications working again.    not a fan of vibrate, but it's a work around.

I would like to know when the do not disturb error notification  will go away, as I'm not receiving phone call notifications on my fitbit charge 2.

I have a samsung S7 edge and am running on the most recent system update. I am having text notifications come through the fitbit, but not calls. I am assuming this is because of this "Do not disturb" issue. I have tried everything else.

Fitbit preceived silence/mute as DND. This then supressses the notification to Charge 2. My phone is Honor 8 by Huawei. Thanks.

I had this same issue even though all permissions were given. My Fitbit still showed " Notifications Off." Just for the heck of it, I did follow the instructions to clear the cache on my phone and held down the button on my Fitbit to turn on the notifications. It seems to have worked because I am now receiving texts on my Fitbit even though my app still tells me my phone is in DND mode.

I am also having the same issue on a Samsung S7 Edge, with all settings correct. Fitbit thinks silent mode is do not disturb mode.

My phone is a Moto G4. Here's how I found it - I'm sure it's similar on other phones.  I went to Settings for the phone, then chose Notifications and it listed all the Apps.  I chose Fitbit, then one of the items in the list was Override Do Not Disturb.

HOWEVER, overriding this did not work for my phone. I am still not receiving text, email or phone notifications like I was before. I was receiving them on my Samsung S3 that I had until 2 months ago and on the Moto G5 Plus that I used temporarily for about 2 weeks after the Samsung broke, but the Moto G4 that I am using right now is not receiving them. Everything I've tried hasn't worked.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 with the same issue. App says phone is in DND mode when it is on silent but DND is off. Checked all permissions, cleared cache, even pre-installed the app before coming here for answers. No OS number, but the Android version is 7.0

Hello everyone and welcome aboard to the Fitbit Community for the newcomers!

So far we do not have more details in which version will be released a fix for this issue. However, rest assure our teams are working to find the root is causing this error.

For those who are experiencing this, I recommend to follow the workaround of overriding the Do not Disturb option. In some models, this option may be shown as "Set as priority"

Keep in mind with some non compatible devices, the behavior may be different, since the app is not optimized to work under the specifications of the phone in question. If this is the case, perhaps our regular troubleshooting steps may give you some extra help. For more details please review this post: My tracker isn't receiving notifications (Android Fitbit app).

See you around.

Hello Android users! I hope you are doin' fine! Smiley Very Happy

Our team is already aware of the "Do not Disturb" notification on the Android app, and our team is working toward a solution. It will be fixed in a future app release. However, I can't confirm which app version whether the next or the one after.

Sorry for any inconvenience guys, but I really appreciate your understanding and patience into this matter. In the meantime, keep an eye on this thread for any update.

I'll be around!

I have a Samsung s9 plus with a Fitbit ionic. I am experiencing the same issue. Solutions tried phone restarts, turning DND on and off, restarting fitbit.

Thanks,

Juliana

My app is doing the same thing.  I just got a new fitbit and it is showing dnd, even though my phone is not in dnd.  I have a Samsung galaxy 7.  It seems the new firmware update caused the problem though I just bought and synched this one.

I've been having this issue too. My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S5 running Android 6.0.1. My Fitbit is the Fitbit Flex 2.

You have to add volume if your ringer is off. This seems to be is a bug in
the update April 2nd. I always have my ringer off bc I work from home and
am on the phone. I can't have background noise but I appreciate the fitbit
notifications. If this can be corrected I'd appreciate it.

Hopefully your SDLC allows for fast hotfix turnarounds. 😉

Juliana
