Welcome to the Forums @jdstld.

I'd like to take a closer look at what is going on.

The first thing I want to do is to ask you some questions:

  • Could you add more details into what is going on?
  • Is the sleep not tracking correctly or not tracking at all?
  • What Fitbit is it that you are using?

At this moment, I'd recommend that you read through this article that talks about sleep tracking.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Hello @jdstld.

Thanks for sharing those details.

It could be related to the Heart Rate not being tracked accurately. Let's try to follow the steps listed in this help article.  They should definitely help in getting it all to track sleep accurately since it is tracked using the Heart Rate.

Look forward to your reply.

jdstld, I have just bought my new Charge 3 & it is doing similar things with my sleep.  Its showing 'Sleep not tracked" but it shows up on my app.  On my app. after sync it doesn't calculate correct sleep timing, eg: I went to bed last night at 11.10pm woke up at 7.35am, my app shows I went to bed at 1.46am & waking up at 7.36am. I've read the articles suggested,  Can someone help with suggestion?

Welcome to the Forums @Betsie67.

Thanks for trying the steps that I mentioned.

There are other reasons why this could be happening:

  • Do you move a lot during your sleep? If so that could explain why sleep is not being tracked.
  • Do you sleep with an open window or with a fan? The wind hitting the Fitbit could lead it to think that you are awake.
  • If you have a high HR during your sleep then the Fitbit might track the time as if you were awake given that your HR remained the same.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Dear LanuzaFitbit

Thank you for you advice, my sleep is being tracked correctly on my phone
but it still will not sync with my Fitbit. Can you suggest why or help me.

Also I can not get notifications from my phone to my Fitbit.

I have gone to to trouble shooting info and made sure everything that is
supposed to be turned on or off is. My phone does not appear in the drop
down list as compatible but I think my software is compatible.

I have a Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) model #:SMA520F, Android version 8.0.0,
Samsung version 9.0, Kernel version 3.18.14-13670986-QB21617744, Knox
version 3.1 API level 25

Can you help me with the above problems.

Kind regards Betsie67

Hello @Betsie67.

Thanks for reaching back with all of those details.

As you mentioned, this could be happening because the Galaxy A5 is not part of the supported devices list. This means that the app has not been fully optimized to work with that phone.

As long as it fulfills the minimum requirements, Android 4.4 and Bluetooth 4.0, there is a possibility that it can work but we cannot guarantee it. Some users of unsupported devices have mentioned that following these steps helps with the syncing and these helps for the notifications.

If none of the above works, you could try to use a computer or another mobile device to try and sync your Fitbit to your account. Click here to get instructions on how to sync with other devices.

Let me know if you have any further questions.
