I received my new Aria 2 last Friday and it works great for everything but the body fat percentage. I made sure it was turned on in the App on my iPhone, I have made sure my feet are always clean and dry, but it only displays "--%" in between my weight and BMI measurement. It show my personal icon, so it knows it is me, it is just not giving me a number. Is there a way to fix it, or is this a defective unit?

@LaurelD I noticed that you joined our Fitbit Community recently. Welcome aboard! I'm sorry to hear that your Aria scale is not providing body fat percentage readings. I want to follow up on this issue and would like to know if the issue persists or if your Aria 2 displays your body fat percentage properly.
In the meantime, try restarting your scale by taking out the batteries for 15 seconds and put them back in. After you've done this, make sure that you are barefoot and your scale is placed on an even or hard surface. Finally, weigh yourself 5 times in a row and see if your Aria 2 shows your body fat percentage.
Let me know how it goes!

I had took the battery out and reset it a couple of different times before I posted yesterday. Oddly enough, for the first time it gave me body fat numbers this morning when I weighed without doing anything different. If anything changes I will post again, but for today at least it is working.

I don’t even get the BMI or body % on the display. After I weigh, it tells me to get off and displays the weight. 🤭

@Diaphanous Hello, and welcome to the forums!
There are settings on the app that need to be toggled to the ON position. On your app dashboard, tap on your Account icon > Aria 2 > People Using This Scale > your name > make sure the Display Bodyfat and Show BMI are toggled to the On position.

My Body Fat Percentage displays, but is not accurate. It measured 31.9 the first time used, then continued to go up to 37.9 in just a couple of days. It went up every day! My weight has been slowly getting less, my height does not change, my age does not change, so why does my body fat continue to increase? The BMI has stayed steady. Using an Omron Fat Loss Monitor shows 34.2% consistently. I have removed this Aria 2 from my account, removed the batteries and then set up again. I am still getting the extra high Body Fat Calculation.

I have the same problem. My initials showing and weight taken but no Body fat measurement. I went into the dashboard and followed above instructions but when I got to my name there were no options to "Display Bodyfat" and show BM to toggle.

@pgeek Do you have an Aria or an Aria 2? I didn't own an Aria, but I believe it displays initials. With the Aria 2, you choose an icon for the scale to display.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @NovatoBabe and @pgeek. It's nice to see new faces around. I'll be glad to assist you with your body fat percentage inquiry.
@NovatoBabe, thank you for sharing your information. Could you please let me know if you weigh every time at the same time and in the same conditions (without eating anything or after eating).
@pgeek, could you please weight yourself bare foot. Also make sure that the surface is flat and firm.
Thank you for your help @LZeeW.
Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Thank you for responding to my post.
I always weigh at approximately the same time every morning before eating.
I remove everything, just me on the scale. No socks or anything else.
My weight fluctuates slightly daily along with a slight different BMI. The
% body fat calculation seems to be off. The first week using the scale it
went up from 31.9% to 37.5%, higher each day. The second week it continued
up to 39.5 and then stayed between 39.0% and 39.5%. Using an Omron Model
HBF-306C Fat Loss Monitor at the same time fluctuates between 34.4% and
34.7%.
How is the Aria 2 measuring % body fat? My sex remains the same, my height
remains the same, my age has not changed during these measurements, and yet
the Aria 2 continued indicate % body fat getting steadily higher. It is now
stabilized but around 5% higher reading. How is this possible?
Thank you for any input.

I just got the scale and I am very dissapointed to find out that the negative reviews were actually true. I was a fit bit fan but now the experience has changed:
1. can not connect to wifi. Have tried removing batteries, over 8 repetitions of connecting to netowork and nothing.
2 . It only displays weight no BMi.
can you please offer some help and do something to fix your product!!!

Hi. I’ve been having the same problem. Took the batteries out, reweighed, checked the setting in the app to make sure “Display Body Fat” is selected, but my scale still shows “—“ for the body fat reading. Are there other steps I can take to trouble shoot this? Thank you.
