Aria 2 Scale - Fat % not accurate

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hi,

I have had my Fitbit aria 2 scale for over a year now. I have been using the fat % reading and have never had any other readings to confirm it’s accuracy until recently.

I had an InBody scan this week and it said that my body fat % is 26.8 however my aria 2 scale has been telling me I am  35.8 on the same day.

I reset the scale as recommended (removed the batteries, waited 15 seconds, put batteries back in and then weighed myself 5 times) however the scale is still saying I am over 35.8%.

Clearly it it is nearly 10% out. Is there a way to rectify this?

Thanks,

Mel

@mel_7886 welcome to our Fitbit Community! I'm happy to assist you with your Aria 2 since it's not tracking your body fat percentage accurately. By the way, thank you for trying the recommended troubleshooting steps before contacting our forums.

Please make sure that your Aria 2 is placed on a hard surface and you are standing on it still and barefoot.

As a side note, please go the profile settings of your Fitbit Dashboard, change the gender from female to male, submit the changes, weigh yourself one time until your scale syncs. After this, go back to your profile settings and change the gender back to female, save the changes and weigh yourself 5 times in a row. Once you've done this, monitor your scale and see if the body fat percentage is correct.

Finally, make sure that the rest of your profile settings (weight and height) are correct.

Keep me posted on the outcome! Smiley Happy

Thanks.

I have tried to do this but the app isn’t letting me change my gender to male, it keeps telling me I need to connect to the internet to complete the sync despite already being connected to the internet.

I tried completely closing the app and then opening it again but I am still having the same issue.

@mel_7886 thank you for getting back! Please try changing the gender from your online Dashboard, not through the app. After changing the gender, please proceed with the steps listed in my previous post and let me know if the issue gets fixed.

See you around! Smiley Happy
