Aria 2 is tracking inaccurate weight readings

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I've had my Aria 2 scales for just over 3 years and they have been great but in the last couple of days they seem to have lost their mind. Every time I get on the reading differ by 3 or 4 kilos. And I'm getting straight on and off. I no longer know what I weight.

I've changed the batteries, reset them disconnected them from the app. Checked the firmware is up to date. I don't know what else to do. Please help.

Hi @sammie222. Welcome to the Community Forums.

Thanks for letting me know that your Aria 2 isn't tracking your data accurately, and for the steps tried on your own. Let's work on this together! Before anything else, please make sure your scale is placed on a hard-flat surface and not on carpets and you're standing still with dry and bare feet. If the scale surface is wet or foggy you can wipe down the surface with a damp cloth.

Once that is done, please give a try to the following:

  1. Open the Fitbit app, tap your profile picture > your name > Personal. Make sure your height and weight are correct.
  2. Restart your Aria 2 one more time by removing all the batteries for 15 seconds and inserting them back.
  3. Weigh 5 times consecutively to calibrate the scale. The scale should then recognized you and save your readings.

Let me know how it goes.

Hi: I’m having the same problem.   I’ve had the scale for about 4 years.   The issue seems to be getting a lot worse.   The scale is consistently 4-5 lb. high.  I’ve cross checked its accuracy with other digital scales and even a manual gym scale.   The other digital scales and manual scale agree with each other.     Utilizing the steps above, including deleting the scale and setting it up multiple times fixes the problem for 1 or 2 weighings but then reverts to measuring high.     If I step on multiple times it will bring the weight down.   For some weird reason, later in the day (after eating and drinking) I sometimes reweigh several pounds lighter, which is never the case using a different scale.   I’m about to buy a new, non-aria scale.    Is it possible to re-calibrate the scale or re-load firmware?

Hi @Horace. Welcome to the Community Forums.

Thanks for sharing that your Aria 2 is having the same issues and for the troubleshooting steps tried prior to posting. I understand how you're feeling about not getting an accurate reading. Currently the scale can be calibrated by weighing you 5 times consecutively. The Aria 2 provides a unique measure at each weigh in and it's expected to see +/- 2 pounds of range. However, because this doesn't apply to you I've requested a case on your behalf so you can receive further assistance from our Support team. Please note that due to recent events affecting our operations there might be a delay in their reply, but they'll get in touch with you soon.

Have a good day!
