Aria Broken and not under warranty

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Aria recently broke and is 8 months past warranty. I think for such a high price scale, it should be good for at least two years!

The best customer service could offer me was a free premium membership. A complete useless offer without a device to use it with.

Would not recommend this item to anyone due to poor product life.

Did it break after a battery change?

Best Answer
No. There is no apparent reason why it broke. It was not moved from it's location, it was not near any water, and I don't have children or pets that could have done something to it unbeknownst to me.

I tried removing battery and resetting without success.

Thanks,
Carley

My Aria is broken too. They are saying it is no longer compatible with my Internet and that I need to change the settings (which I did). No dice. I am thinking about purchasing different products in the future.

They keep transferring me around and troubleshooting in the same way. It is crazy that I am being asked to do the same troubleshooting over and over without any kind of solution or change to the method of troubleshooting. so annoying!

Hahaha! This is exactly what I said to their tech person when they asked me to troubleshoot the same steps over and over again.

My Aria broke as well. The Aria fails to sync with the router. Went through the online trouble shooting only to realize it's broken and past the one year warranty date. No replacement offered.

I agree that this a lot to pay for product that does not last. While I loved features of the scale, I cannot recommend this product to my friends.

@KevinMcCallum Thank you for joining us in this thread and our Fitbit Community! I'm sorry to hear that your Aria stopped syncing with your network. I would like to know if you made changes to your network (router, router settings or WiFi password). This info will help me accordingly.

Looking forward to your response! Smiley Happy

I followed everything that the FitBit team instructed me to do. I even changed my internet provider. The scale is still not working properly. I’m very disappointed in the product and will not be a customer going forward.

The tech support acknowledged that my issue started after an update done by Fitbit. The only solution was to give me free shipping if I wanted to buy a new one. This all reminds me of the issues that Apple faced for similar updates that rendered their products useless. I hope that someone from Fitbit will work with us to come up with a fair solution.

@Nwillis Welcome aboard to our Fitbit Community! By the way, I'm sorry for the late response. However, I want to follow up and would like you to try the following troubleshooting steps if you haven't tried them:

Please restart your Aria by taking out the batteries for 15 seconds and put them back in. Then, weigh yourself 5 consecutive times in order to re-calibrate the scale.

As a side note, make sure that your scale is placed on a hard surface and you are stepping on it barefoot.

Keep me posted on the outcome! Smiley Happy

Thanks for the standard corporate response.

Tried everything and threw it in the trash

Kevin,
I bought a RENPHO body fat scale on Amazon for $25 new. It’s app gives more info than Fitbit and it shares info with the Fitbit app if that’s your preference. Connects to the phone via Bluetooth. So far so good for me. Fitbit never made it right with me on their crappy scale.

Don’t tell me that you are a computer and we are all waisting our time here, complaining about an issue that you guys will never fix because there is no fix to it.
