How can I use my Aria as a regular scale?

Can this Aria scale be used as a "dumb" scale? I changed batteries and cannot get it to connect again.  How can I use it as only a Scale?

I think you need to do a hard reset. The instructions can be found on youtube but essentially there is a pinhole you need to push while putting in the last battery. 

 

It will be annoying as the scale will show several messages before it displays weight. It certainly will be "dumb".

 

I've given up on it and just ordered a Withings scale on Amazon!
