My Aria is experiencing a battery draining issue

I just called Fitbit letting them know that I've had a problem with my Aria scale for some time now noticing that my battery life would last less and less. I've noticed the unit occasionally go on without stepping on it. And now it goes on every 10 minutes!

This is a manufactured defect and they wouldn't replace it after calling them! I should have been calling them during the warranty and not let it get past the one year. Now my opinion about Fitbit has changed.  Not happy!

@gtoth99 It's great to see you in our Fitbit Community! I'm sorry to hear that your Aria batteries drained fast. I'm also sorry to hear that it's no longer under warranty. The warranty period is good for 365 days starting from the date of first setup.

i totally understand how frustrating this is for you and I appreciate your feedback since this helps us to keep improving.

My scale is having the exact same problem.  It turns on by itself and keeps prompting with “step on” uncommanded. I’ve been through 3 sets of batteries in 2 months. It’s getting very expensive.

@msilagy Thank you for joining us in this thread and our Fitbit Community! I'm sorry to hear that your Aria scale is also turning on by itself. I would like you to try the following: take out the batteries, clean the contacts of your scale with a cotton swab and a little bit of alcohol. This will remove any dust that the the contacts accumulate.

Finally, put the batteries back in and monitor your scale in order to see if the issue doesn't happen again.

Keep me posted on the outcome! Smiley Happy

Thanks for the feedback and recommendation. We did that and have cycled
through several resets. It's finally working again as of yesterday and
we're hoping whatever it was doesn't reoccur.
