Sync Aria Air using Sense Smartwatch?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Aria AIr uses Bluetooth only to record weight. Which is fine.

However it seems I can only sync weight data if I have my phone app open at the right spot before getting on the scale. Typically I don't have my phone with me in the bathroom, I do however have my Sense watch on pretty much 24/7. Is there a way to sync the weight from the Air to the Sense watch using bluetooth? They both have bluetooth capability.

I am here looking for the answer as well.    I don’t take my phone with me to the bathroom.

@JPWhite  @Riverar   With respect to Bluetooth communication, the scale communicates with the app and a Fitbit device communicates with the app, but there is no Bluetooth communication between a Fitbit and the scale.  The Fitbit app needs to be open and in range.  "In range" does give you some leeway.  I can have my app open on a nightstand and it will sync from the bathroom.  I am an iPhone user.  I even tried the following:

  • I opened the Fitbit app in one room, then let my phone lock the screen
  • I weighed myself in a different room, then stayed there until the scale went dark
  • I waited a few more minutes then unlocked my phone
  • The weight synced

I'm not sure this will work with an Android phone.  It looks like your phone just needs to be in Bluetooth range, usually about 20 ft.

I agree with you about phones in the bathroom.  I keep my bathrooms spotless.  But I don't like bringing my phone into the bathroom.

I totally agree with JPWhite's suggestion regarding being able to sync the data from the Aria Air directly to the Fitbit Sense. Given the high cost of the Sense itself, it should have this capability to perform as JPWhite's remarks suggest. Fitbit, please implement this idea and create an update for the Sense and Aria Air to work together without the use of the Fitbit app and user's smartphones required to sync the data from the Aria Air to the Fitbit app. It would make much more sense (no pun intended) for the "smart" scale to be able to perform this task alongside the smart watch users have invested quite a significant amount of their money into. I don't understand why Fitbit designers and software engineers and technicians did not brainstorm all of these sorts of ideas prior to putting products such as the Fitbit Sense and Aria Air on the market. This all should have been pre-planned and implemented in the early stages of each products' development prior to hitting the markets for consumers. Instead, we have to keep making suggestions that should have already been thought out by Fitbit to make their products ease of use more convenient for consumers and customers. Thank you for taking the time to review my concerns, and a special thank you to JPWhite for speaking out about this idea/suggestion and voicing his concerns, because it affects us all as users and consumers of this manufacturer's technology/products being sold and customers who have invested in Fitbit's tech to improve our everyday lives and to make life easier and not so complicated. No brainer. Way to go, JPWhite for bringing up and addressing this concern directly on Fitbit's online forums. Let's hope our voices are actually being heard by Fitbit itself so that they can make those improvements hopefully sooner than later.

Thank you also to Fitbit and its' staff for allowing users to voice their concerns and provide suggestions that hopefully Fitbit will listen to and take appropriate action to improve the quality of its' products and ease of access for Fitbit customers.
