Anyone else finding their blaze fantastic?

I've been reading about the issues some have been having. Sorry about that. Mine has been working great so far. Update happend in only 5 minutes. My phone is syncing with no issues. I do not notice any issues in incorrect step counting or stairs climbed. It's holding a charge much better than I thought it would. My iPhone connects to the app for using the GPS with no issues whatsoever. I just wanted to write this so people can know, some of us are not experiencing these issues, or at least, not yet. My first impression is that this is a total winner. Time will tell.

My experience with the Blaze has been amazing so far, the HR sensor has been spot on during exercise and at rest. The battery life is also very impressive given the screen as well.

@KW1I create a Custom Activity because I want a finer analysis than the Dashboard HR graphs.

There is one downside that it can average your calorie burn over the time and you could lose your Active Minutes. If so, I delete the activity after I have analysed the data.

I played around with Yoga activity on the Surge and the Charge HR would not log an Activity Record while I was sleeping, so I experimented.

I will try the Blaze tonight with its exercise logging.

I am pretty happy with it, but there are some things that aren't really optimal.  I had zero problem setting it up.  I have done walks outside and it tracked everything fine.  The GPS was accurate.  I wore a chest strap with it using Digifit (not syncing it with Fitbit) and the two were very similar.  The Fitbit had a slightly higher average BPM but it was within 3 beats of the chest strap.  I walk in a hilly neighborhood and I liked how it tracked the elevation.  I think the HR data on this seems more accurate than that on the Charge HR.  I'm going to put the Charge HR on a separate account and wear both of them for a couple of days and see how they compare.

Things I was less happy with:

1.  I was walking on the treadmill with a slight incline and my heart rate was mostly about 105 to 115 which seemed right to me.  But then I noticed it went up to over 140 for no apparent reason.  There is no way my HR was really over 140 doing what I was doing.  But it did come back down.

2.  The buzz is very faint.  And, this morning I slept through my morning alarm.  I don't think I hit the button to turn it off and it didn't snooze.  Maybe I rolled over and the face was tapped to turn it off.  Not sure.  This does concern me since I use my tracker as my alarm.  We'll see how it does.

3.  It does seem to be missing some steps when I am just walking around the house.  I noticed last night I was doing some stuff in my kitchen and it didn't register a single step.  I have a fairly large kitchen and was walking around the island, then to the pantry then to the sink, etc.  Literally none of about 50 steps were counted.  That said, I often had the same issue with my Charge HR.

4.  I am not happy with any of the clock faces.  I like the info I can get with the Original but don't like the analog clock.  I really want to be able to get HR and steps easily from the clock screen.  Pop would do it but is spectacularly ugly.  Flare is the prettiest but you can't even get HR.

@KW1 I have just analysed an Exercise Workout and by creating the Custom Activity to analyse parts of that I can now probably analyse my missing heart beats.

A Custom Activity of a Workout gives me 8 plots in 10 seconds.. Close to my bpm when resting.. Whereas it was only 1 plot for 10 seconds if I didn't run the Workout.

I will now try it and leave the HR monitor on continuous and see what is recorded..

Thanks for asking the question and making me extend my thinking...

I have just completed a test with the HR set to Auto and no Exercise type set.  It makes no difference to the plotting of the bpm points, again 8-10 seconds gap between each beat.

So, if you want a better analysis of your HR if you have conditions like mine, Smiley Happy Many athletes have this condition (1st degree heart block) which is not a problem, you must set a workout mode..

I will test Yoga while I'm asleep tonight..

I am no longer impressed and will be returning my Blaze.  I do like the color screen but toehr than that my Charge HR does everything it does and is way smaller.  The Blaze is just too big for what you get and the styling is not to my likeing.

Hope that you people enjoy, it is good we all have choice!

Hi @szidlon - Correct... My understanding is that "Move" Alerts will be added in a future firmware release. Not sure on timing.

Enjoying mine also!  I do not put all my faith in the statistics that they give...as that is all informational.  For example, the calorie burn is not correct based on experience.  I don't expect it to be perfect on every detail.  It just gives a reference for trends over time.  The only aggrivating part for me was that when I use weights as an exercise, it doesn't show up as active minutes even though my heart rate stays in fat burning zone.  It's a small thing and I am happy with the results so far!

So far I am loving mine. It syncs with my iPhone 6s plus better than my Charge did.  Notifications and music control all work.

Before I ordered this, I purchased an Apple sport watch and returned it 2 days later when I saw the Blaze was on pre-order.  I don't regret it returning the apple watch one bit now.

My only complaint is that the vibration is weaker than my Charge, other than that I dig it.  I have only had it 4 days so I still need to use it and see

@KW1 A perfectly recorded activity last night with Yoga for 7 hours sleep.

On a 2 minute sample using the Custom Activity it recorded 43 beats in 2 minutes.  On the straight line sections it had consistent beats, in particular the one highlighted.. Every 3 seconds, so it probably won't pickup my missing heart beat because I have a beat typically every second and a missing beat would be 2 seconds..

Well done Fitbit for the consiistency in the algorithm, because at my age 72bpm gives me Fat Burning Zone and  it did not spike into the Fat Burning zone like the Charge HR used to, again very stable recording.

@ErickFitbit for info.

Can you tell me if the Blaze has the inactivity/idle alert that would notify you if you're stationary for too long? I saw somewhere that it did, but I don't see it mentioned on the Fitbit site.

Thanks!

I got my Blaze on Monday. It is the first fitness tracker watch I have had, prior to that I was using the Fitbit app on my iPhone 6S.

The set of of my Blaze was quick and I find it comfy to wear and the battery is doing great.

I have used it to track walks and bike rides using GPS which work well.

For me the reason I got this was about the fitness tracking and being able to tell the time. It does those functions perfectly.

The notifications and music control are an added benefit.

I agree the virbations should be stronger - but other than that I am happy that it meets the purpose I got it for.

I will see how I get on over the next week of use and give a more in depth view later.

I have used mine for 5 days straight and have had no issues. Battery just now showing low. I reset my stride length and measured my distance on a regulation track and it's now as accurate as my One was. I was concerned about the arm movements registering steps when sitting or driving, etc. but it's been a non-issue. I'm so glad I waited for this and didn't get the Surge.

Mine is still functioning as it should - and I have not had any regrets at all with this device.  In fact, my hubby just received his - he had to get one after seeing me with mine for almost a week.  Smiley Tongue  He told me I couldn't have all the cool toys.

I am loving mine, no regrets at all.  But i basically would be happy with a ChargeHR with the interchangeable bands/straps.

I'm totally in love with my blaze. But would love a few small added features to make this perfect for me. I would love to see blaze add a way to add inscription to my alarms. I.E. When I set an alarm I would like to be able to add a notation of what that alarm is for. I would also LOVE to be able to add my food or at least water intake from the blaze. Would be awesome to have a way to view steps from the main screen with all 4 of the blaze homes screen options. No deal breakers for me because I love my blaze. But if you ever were able to add those features. I'd LOVE it even more 😊 #FitbitJunky #ChargeChargeHRBlaze #FitbitLifer #ThanksFitbit

I'm most pleased with mine and have had no problems whatsoever.

Probably one of the very few electronic devices which has been completely glitch-free (at least for me) from the start. I wouldn't complain if Fitbit left it as it is.
