Battery draining Blaze

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have a Fitbit blaze that is completely dead. I cannot charge the battery and when I plug it in, the screen turns on like normal, but even after I allow it time for a full charge, the battery says it is completely dead.  I think it needs a reset or something along those lines, but I can't utilize any of the buttons or anything like that because the battery is dead.  Any suggestions?

Hello @LadieMan @Zoream @Typhoon799, it's nice to see you again in our Community Forums.

@LadieMan thank you for joining the thread and sharing your concerns regarding your Blaze battery. The battery icon in the top left of your device’s screen shows the remaining battery life as of the last sync. If it's flashing you may need to charge your device. Charging your device to 100% may take 1-2 hours. I recommend checking the tips to charge your device in this help article: How do I charge my Fitbit device? Please move on to the troubleshooting steps if you experience any difficulties with charging your tracker.

@Zoream @Typhoon799 thank you for your input.

Feel free to reach out if you have any other questions.

Good afternoon!

I wear my Fitbit everyday! I started with the flex and now have the Blaze. I absolutely love my Fitbit family! I have only had my Blaze for a short while and have noticed recently the battery is not holding a charge. I have tried to reset my Fitbit and I always make sure the contacts and device are kept clean. Any additional advice? Please help!!! Thank you

Get it done under warranty or get money back as it isn't fit for purpose.

Also look at the Trustpilot rating of fitbit. They are appaling.

I have had my Blaze for 1 1/2 years or so and within the last month the charge only lasts for a max of 4 hours. I can charge it to 100% with no problem.  I have cleaned and performed all the tips in order to try to extend the battery life life including shutting down all the notifications, heart rate monitor, and all day sync but to no avail.

Please help.

You can't do anything. Just don't give them anymore money.

Fitbit batteries are no good and hard to find replacement for them. They last about a year. My next smartwatch is not going to be a fitbit for sure.

I had my fitbit blaze replaced by fitbit under warranty. The replacement is a refurbish and fits loosely in the band it still works well but it's annoying.  Plus the battery doesn't last as long as my old one used to certainly not five days. Not sure if I'll have a whole year with the baterry on the refurbished one. I hope I'm wrong.

Eulogy to my Fitbit Blaze:

I received my Blaze as a present more than 3 years ago. I had gotten into a fitness kick where I was running local distance races so my sister in law who was running marathons had sworn by it got it for me.

About a week after receiving I tried it and I loved it. It was more accurate than my phone and was very convenient.

There were a few issues along the way though. After 3 months it stopped working, but I was under warranty so fitbit replaced it no questions asked. The charger, which fitbit's are very flimsy, cracked and I had to order a new one. The new charger's locking mechansism which is used to make sure that the charger endpoints are touching the Blaze's cracked after 2nd use. The charger was operational when I put a weight on top of charger. So I just kept using that way for life of the watch.

So for 3 years I have been using the Blaze. But, it started to show charging issues about 3 months ago. I noticed that I was charging the Blaze after 3 days instead 4-5 like I had been. That 3 days became 2 days and now it's about a day a half.

I looked at this forum and was disappointed that this seems to be a common theme for owners of the Blaze. It's time to buy a new device since I am out warranty and new Blaze battery does not seem practical.

So long Blaze. I am sad to see you go.

Is it possible to get a free Fitbit Blaze sent by Fitbit? If so, thanks.

Contact costumer support. If under warranty yes they will send a refurbished one. But not the bracelet or the charger.

If it's under warranty take it back to the shop you purchased it from, get a brand new replacement. Why go through fitbit...

Also when it goes wrong just chalk it down to experience and don't purchase another fitbit product.

You are posting with and iPhone, so you must be used to over priced products.

Well, I’m sorry. Fitbit the company itself sells
its products with bracelets and chargers. All
of them. I’ve seem them online. I think Fitbit should sell also like a black adapter for every
product they make. I don’t work for the company. You do.

I also think they should sell products that don't constantly fail, I mean come on, look how many people are having issues, look at their rating on Trustpilot, it's one of the worst.

I agree with you. I have never used my warranty. Just would buy another
one. I have a Versa now, and I am already starting to see the battery
isn't lasting as long.

I blame the Blaze. Now that it's going to be around 11 months since I have
had the Versa. It's the same issue.
