Battery draining Blaze

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have a Fitbit blaze that is completely dead. I cannot charge the battery and when I plug it in, the screen turns on like normal, but even after I allow it time for a full charge, the battery says it is completely dead.  I think it needs a reset or something along those lines, but I can't utilize any of the buttons or anything like that because the battery is dead.  Any suggestions?

The customer service parroted replies are tiresome now.

Just refund everyone and we can get a Garmin and leave the forums.

Sorry, my Blaze did that too. Many people complained about the same thing, but no fix was released. Lots of dissatisfied customers there.

I replaced the Blaze with a Fitbit Versa Special Edition, which allows you to do FitBit Pay. It’s been working great for over a year so far, and battery life is still 5 days per charge.

I’m not sure I’d replace this Versa if it starts acting up though. The Versa 2 doesn’t have enough features as far as I’m concerned.

Note regarding a shortening of battery life on my Fitbit Versa after getting to over a year of successful use with 5-day battery life.  I dropped to 3-4 days battery life at the beginning of the Coronavirus pandemic. Why? A gazillion news notifications!  I removed most news notification sources and boom!  My battery life went back to 5 days!

Get a different watch or brand they dont support the blaze

All batteries have a defined life where it will not hold much of a charge based on the number of charge/discharge cycles it has done and depending on how old your Blaze is the battery could just be at end of life.

There are replacement batteries online but you will need to find someone with soldering skills to replace it for you since Fitbit do not have repair services

KLeBlaze:  My Blaze watch was around 6 months old, and had done a recent update. After this update, the rapid battery failure began, I went onto the forum to find an answer, and found a huge number of complaints related to Blaze battery failures. I did everything I could, including factory resets. No one got successful help with this, and I gave up.

Thankfully, the Fitbit Versa SE I bought to replace the Blaze has been working well for over a year, with 5-day battery life being routine. Hopefully it’ll stay that way. I haven’t installed the new pending update, as I’m skittish about Fitbit updates. Everything still OK without the update. I really love how this Versa works, especially the Fitbit Pay function!

I have the same problem. Fitbit doesn't hold charge. I bought it while in California but now in india . How do I get the replacement

I dabble in electronics repair so I replaced the battery in my Blaze. Surprisingly that did not help one bit. It still dies in less than 6 hours. I think it must be a firmware issue since I couldn't see any signs of corrosion or other damage on the board.

I design micro controller based electronics at work and have observed that the Blaze seems to get caught in synchronization loops with the backend servers at FitBit which quickly drains the battery.  I had 3 Blazes which had randomly exhibited that behavior while monitoring network traffic during the syncing process.  Currently on my first Versa 2 which was a warranty replacement for a Versa 1 which had a hardware failure preventing it from operating or getting diagnosed.  The Versa 2 is getting 4 to 5 days of battery life with normal intended usage.
