Blaze Battery life

I have only had my Blaze for just under two weeks and have already notices that it does not hold a charge as long as it should and is reported to.  Before I went to sleep last night it reported that it was at a 50% charge, I checked when I got to work today and now it reports that it has a low batter.  How does it lose that much battery life over night?  My Blaze will most likely die before I even make it half way through my day today and will not accurately track my gym visit tonight.  It is very disappointing that a full charge (I charged it overnight on Friday into Saturday) doesn't even last three full days.  Do any of you notice this issue? It's frustrating because I know most of my day is not going to be tracked accurately.  I mean, are we all supposed to buy extra chargers to keep one at home and one at work to make sure that we a backup plan?  And, it's not like any of the 5 other backup chargers I have floating around my desk will do the trick . . . no universal charging options for FitBit.

Thank you Silvia.  I have adjusted most of my settings to lighten the drain on the battery per the recommendations found in the link you provided; this should help going forward. Unfortunately, it doesn't help me today... my Blaze will be out of battery life long before I get to the gym tonight.  I have ordered a backup charger (to join all my other backup chargers) to keep at my desk.  I just wish I could have gotten three full days out of the charge.  Live and learn.

Hi Silvia, I find that if I keep all the bells and whistles turned off (all day sync, notifications, alarms) the battery life of my Blaze is approximately 4 days. Which is much better than the 2.5 days I was originally getting. The bells and whistles are nice to have but they are a major drain on the battery life.

Silvia I came to this section looking for help, my Blaze is brand new and the battery is totally dead in 2 days. I went to the post you mentioned and read all the tips. I am disappointed that I can't use any of the features if I want to have any battery. I only had on two alarms and the screen on high brightness only because I found it very difficult to see. I was much happier with the HR and am sorry I "upgraded".  I will turn off all the features that I paid so much for and see if that helps. Thank  you for posting the tips.

I have found that I get around 6 days on my one with auto HE, notifications and all day sync on but no alarms. I also got a full day on low battery when I left my charger in my work bag after a trip.

My tips would be to top up the battery rather than waiting for it to run out. My one gets topped up when I'm in the shower or out on my bike. As it has a lipo battery you won't damage it by doing this (in fact a lipo battery is best kept between around 30 and 70% anyway). A 15 minute top up can put a surprising amount in the battery. My one had been on the grey level in the app for a couple of days, yet a top up while I had a shower last night put it into the green and 18 hours later it is still green.

Setting screen brightness to auto instead of on is a big way to save battery. Not having the all-day sync or the always connected helps a lot as well. These are not even necessary as if you go for a run you can just pull up the app and connect your phone right then. You can manually sync it any time you open the app. Setting the HR to auto vs on can reduce battery usage. And turning off quick view greatly reduces battery usage.

Something to consider is how often the watch face's LED is lighting up. If it lights up a lot and is bright, it will reduce battery.

It isn't that we can't use the features that we pay for. Of course we can. We just need to be aware of the battery usage of the features. The suggestions I gave will definitely prolongue battery life.

I am getting almost 5 days with my Blaze.  No problems with this aspect of the unit.

I think for $15 or less buying one of these new chargers that can charge the Blaze without taking it out the watch band is worth it.  Then keep the charger that came with the Blaze at work or in the car if you travel.

Only problem is it takes multiple hours to charge it in the band (at least using the USB from a PC as opposed to the wall charger).  Unless I am doing something wrong.

Hi there @CRETY1. Good to see you in the Fitbit Community! 🙂

I would recommend fully charging your  tracker and once it's fully charged, sync it to your phone. Sync it constantly during the day until the battery runs out and when this happens, feel free to get in touch with the Support Team for them to confirm that the battery was draining faster than expected and they will be happy to get you back on track!

Let me know how it goes!

@FerdinandFitbit, silvafitbit. Hello, I have had my blaze for about 3 months. So far I'm happy with it. It has been a motivator for me. There is a lot to learn about it. It has taken me a few months to get my stride set. Still having problems with my calories burned. Any how I having been testing the battery life. I go to the gym 5 days a week and I use my blaze to track my exercise. I use the spinning cycle for average of 45 minutes, workout, weights, 15-20 minutes and fitstar. I have shutdown everything possible on my iPhone to conserve power and I get 5 days per charge on my blaze. I shutting down my tracker every night for 4 nights thinking I would be able to squeeze in another few days before having to recharge, nope on day 5 my tracker needed to be charged. On day 5 when I turned my tracker on my battery life was down. The night before the battery life was at 50%. It's almost like the tracker has develop a memory. The ni-cad had the same problem. If you charge your battery everyday it would think the battery was dead at the end of the day. Do you know what type of battery they use on the blaze? Anyhow shutting down at night will not help me conserve battery life. I always wait until my battery is almost dead before charging. 5 days max is all I can get. Have you tried shutting down your tracker at night to see if you can get a few more days of usage before having to recharge?

Hey @Aclobos! Good to see you around!

I personally don't like turning off my Blaze at night because I like to monitor my sleep but I would also have thought that by turning off the tracker every night would make the battery to last longer.

I will try to do this and see if the battery lasts more. Thank you so much for sharing this.
