So, the update for these features was due to be released "sometime in February."
I'm looking at the calendar, and it looks like time is almost up. Any updates?

Hey everyone - thanks for holding a constructive discussion on this topic. As others have mentioned in this thread, Fitbit announced at the 2017 Consumer Electronics Show that a firmware update containing new features for Blaze was due to be released in February 2017. As we're always striving to deliver the best experience possible for our users, we have delayed the release of that update a bit longer until we can be sure it meets the quality standards that consumers have come to expect from Fitbit.
We very much appreciate your patience with this, and we share your enthusiasm and excitement to see it released! We will post in this forum once the update starts to roll out to users, and you can keep an eye on your Fitbit app as well as the Release Notes Page to stay up to date on the most current firmware release.

I was wondering the same thing. I guess technically they have one more day 😉 On the other hand, I'd rather them take their time and get it right because the way Fitbit operates, this will probably be one of the last updates the Blaze gets.

I'm sure it will get announced when its time.
Maybe something delayed it. Stuff happens

I find the lack of information regarding updates or anything they are working on very disappointing, especially from such a big and successful company as they are, this is very of putting to me and makes me feel I made a mistake choosing fitbit over numerous of other companies that release information regularly regarding future updates and timescales 😤

"New features for Fitbit Blaze will be available globally in February 2017" - https://investor.fitbit.com/press/press-releases/press-release-details/2017/Fitbit-Adds-Software-Too...
That's taken directly from the Press Release dated the 5th of Jan 2017.
The features being referenced are the VO2 Max and Relaxed Guided Breathing Exercises.
As it stands it's now the 1st of March 2017 and these features have yet to be released. Can we get an update on when we can expect the next firmware update for the Blaze or an update to the app that will add these features.

I hope it is soon. I got the Blaze two weeks ago and wouldn't have picked it if it wasn't for the fact that it was supposed to be getting the Breathe function which works so well on my wife's Charge 2. Does Fitbit do stuff like this a lot? Do they announce things which they then go back on or is it just a case of waiting patiently?

I know delays can happen, nevertheless it would be very nice to have some sort of an update.

This comunity is set up for Fitbit users to help Fitbit users. One problem with this is thst as a fitbit user like you are, we have no more insight in what the developers are doing than you do.
sorry

Thank you for your answer. 🙂
The situation is some sort of a bummer... But at least for me, the issue is not with the delay, but with the lack of communication.
First world problems 😉

It's pretty par for the tech industry. Apple puts out a phone with a problem... No comment. Amazon takes down a good chunk of the internet... No comment and on - and - on. Fitbit's last major firmware for the Blaze was delayed and there was no information while a bunch of the Forum members went (unnecessarily) ballistic.
Best thing as a few people have already posted is wait and see.

Thank you for answering my question -if the last major update was delayed, then this is normal and nothing to worry about. As I have only had my Blaze a fortnight, I had no previous experience with updates. The new features were a big part of me picking the Blaze, so I just wanted to check as I still hav time to return mine. I will wait and see instead. Thanks again!

Many thanks to @MatthewFitbit for the formal/official answer from someone at Fitbit.
Have to tell you I really like my Blaze, wear it everyday and use the features in it all the time. Its a essential part of my life and workouts.
The press release in the "investors" URL was promising features in February, but many thanks for reaching to users now.

Thanks, @MatthewFitbit, for taking some time to actually respond and acknowledge the delay.
I feel if Fitbit took this stance more often, a lot fewer threads like this would be started in the first place.
