Hi All,
I got a fitbit blaze since a couple of weeks and now the heart rate monitor refuses to work.
At first it did not work too, but when doing my first run excercise it started working and showing my heart rate.
It worked since than without a problem.
Now during my last run exercise on 14th May it stopped working and since than I was unable to get it working again.
I tried a hard reset several times, I tried shutdown several times, I changed heart rate setting to Off, On, Auto, but still no luck.
I am out of options.
Is it possible to factory reset a Blaze?
Thanks for any feedback or help on this topic.
Koen
Best AnswerAs far as I am aware a Factory Reset and a Hard Reset is the same thing.
How tight do you wear your fitbit? If it is too tight that may affect the ability to accurately read the heart rate.
Is it all sweaty? Have you tried wiping down the outside of the fitbit where the sensors are?
If it consistently has problems I'd try contacting support, but there are some trouble shooting steps that can be taken first to see if it isn't an issue with the blaze itself.
Best AnswerThe easiest thing to do is reset the device. Hard reset by holding down the bottom right button and the left button for 15 seconds until it vibrates, or go to settings on the fitbit tracker itself by scrolling all the way to the right and at the bottom selecting shut down. Today my tracker started acting up and wasn't picking up my heart beat for a bit so i reset it and it worked fine since. Sometimes it just needs to be reset.

Thanks @fudge22! 🙂
@kvo181 Sounds like you did quite a bit of troubleshooting, it might be time to reach out to Customer Support so they can take a look.
Hi All,
it seems to be a software problem.
Got in touch with customer support and they helped me troubleshoot.
They also told me they are working on a fix.
So anybody having the same issue, we just need to wait for the fix 🙂

Koen

Hello @MeganCRNA welcome to the Fitbit Community! I would like to ask if the back lights of the tracker are on? If they are not flashing make sure the heart rate setting is "On" or "Auto", and try to restart the Blaze as advised by @SunsetRunner on this post. If they are flashing and the heart rate is not showing on your device, experiment with wearing the tracker higher on your wrist during exercise. Because blood flow in your arm increases the farther up you go, moving the tracker up a couple inches can improve the heart rate signal. Do not wear your tracker too tight; a tight band restricts blood flow, potentially affecting the heart rate signal. That being said, the tracker should also be slightly tighter (snug but not constricting) during exercise than during all-day wear. And contact back our support team if after this your Blaze is not recording your heart rate @kvo181 thanks for sharing your experience. @csbhockey are you still experiencing issues with your heart rate? Have you tried any troubleshoot?
Let me know if you have any questions! 😉

Hi, I noticed my Heart Rate monitor stopped worked as well for my Blaze. I went into the settings option and saw that the Heart Rate monitor was off.
Not exactly sure how it went off, been using it for months. Anyway, if the green lights are not blinking on the back, go into the settings options on the watch itself and change to make sure Heart Rate is On.
Kind Regards,
Mark

My Blaze had this problem that started either yesterday or this morning. It was showing "--" for heartrate and the green lights were not flashing. I fixed by doing a reset following instructions at: http://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1186
