Blaze can provide Call, Text, and Calendar notifications so that you can stay connected!
This post will provide instructions on how to setup your alerts so that you can see who's texting you, the content of the messages, who's calling, and what your calendar has on deck for you. For a detailed overview of alerts for Blaze, please see this help page.
Setup Steps:
- Make sure that your mobile device is compatible with our notifications feature by visiting http://www.fitbit.com/devices.
- On your mobile device, make sure Bluetooth is enabled, and make sure your device is nearby! Note that you'll only receive notifications on your tracker when your mobile device is within this radius.
- Open the Fitbit app on your mobile device and tap your tracker tile at the top of your mobile dashboard.
- Tap your tracker tile a second time, tap Notifications, and then turn on call notifications.
- To verify that set up was successful, look at the list of Bluetooth-connected devices on your mobile device. Your tracker name should appear.
Using Alerts:
You can easily see all of your alerts by swiping up from the home screen. Here, you'll see previous incoming calls, text messages for the day, and calendar alerts as well. You may delete these alerts either individually or all at once.
Notes:
- For Android users, please ensure that you've turned notification access on in your settings and enabled each notification in the Fitbit App. Please also ensure that message preview is toggled on in your phone's settings, as this should help populate the message content.
- iOS users should allow reception of text notifications in their Notification Center settings, in addition to the workflow for alerts in the Fitbit app for iOS.
- Calendar notifications use the native calendar app in iOS, and the native or select 3rd party apps on Android.
- Windows Phones don't support alerts at this time.
- Fitbit trackers currently don't support emojis. Notifications containing emojis will show a blank square, instead of the emoji that was sent.
- Text messages won't show up if the message app is open on your phone.
- When using Message+, your Fitbit tracker will show a notification that looks something like this: (Contact Name – 1 New Message). This is because when messages are received in Message+, they're stored that way in the notifications center on Android.
- If you receive more than one text message in succession from the same person, your tracker may group the messages together as "2 New Messages" or "3 New Messages" instead of showing a preview of the message text.

Do you think we can split this thread into Apple and Android sections? Notifications on the iPhone are quite different than on an Android device and it is getting a little confusing if people don't specify their device. Just a suggestion. I also think everyone should post which version of IOS and Android they are currently running along with the model of the phone.

I have a fitbit blaze. I have connected it to my xiomi mi4 phone. It gets sync with the phone but the blaze does not show any notification of call or SMS when I receive a call or SMS. My notification in the setting is on. I have upgraded my phone to the latest updated software but still the problem is not solved yet.
To check if it's a problem with the blaze so I connected it with my iPhone 5s. In that there is no such problem of notification. Whenever I receive a call or SMS I get the notification on the blaze.
So is it software or compatability problem of notification with android phone?

On the blaze app or on the dashboard there is a section that asks you to select notifications. For text you can only select hangouts, messenger or whatsapp but only one. Make sure you have that selected correctly. Also check to see that you have blaze classic connected via bluetooth. You should be able to see notifications by swiping up on the clock and control music by swiping down.

Try a hangouts and a whatsapp message just to see. It should have the message along with who it's from. When you swipe up what does it say, just new message with nothing else?

Is it the messenger app from Google? I don't use that but I can give it a try. All my sms go to hangouts until they stop supporting it, which I'm told it soon. You don't have hangouts installed by default somewhere?

Yes I know that, same here. But hangouts can send sms not only hangouts messages. It's a little bit tricky of a configuration, however. I can do text from my computer with it enabled. But, if you want to PM me your hangouts email address I can test it with you on hangouts alone. I'm thinking at this point there is something in messenger configuration that might not be allowing messages to come thru. You have music controls working? And blaze classic is connected via BT?
