Blaze can provide Call, Text, and Calendar notifications so that you can stay connected!

This post will provide instructions on how to setup your alerts so that you can see who's texting you, the content of the messages, who's calling, and what your calendar has on deck for you. For a detailed overview of alerts for Blaze, please see this help page

Setup Steps:

  1. Make sure that your mobile device is compatible with our notifications feature by visiting http://www.fitbit.com/devices
  2. On your mobile device, make sure Bluetooth is enabled, and make sure your device is nearby! Note that you'll only receive notifications on your tracker when your mobile device is within this radius.
  3. Open the Fitbit app on your mobile device and tap your tracker tile at the top of your mobile dashboard.
  4. Tap your tracker tile a second time, tap Notifications, and then turn on call notifications.
  5. To verify that set up was successful, look at the list of Bluetooth-connected devices on your mobile device. Your tracker name should appear.

Using Alerts:

You can easily see all of your alerts by swiping up from the home screen. Here, you'll see previous incoming calls, text messages for the day, and calendar alerts as well. You may delete these alerts either individually or all at once.

Notes

  • For Android users, please ensure that you've turned notification access on in your settings and enabled each notification in the Fitbit App. Please also ensure that message preview is toggled on in your phone's settings, as this should help populate the message content.
  • iOS users should allow reception of text notifications in their Notification Center settings, in addition to the workflow for alerts in the Fitbit app for iOS.
  • Calendar notifications use the native calendar app in iOS, and the native or select 3rd party apps on Android.
  • Windows Phones don't support alerts at this time.
  • Fitbit trackers currently don't support emojis. Notifications containing emojis will show a blank square, instead of the emoji that was sent.
  • Text messages won't show up if the message app is open on your phone.
  • When using Message+, your Fitbit tracker will show a notification that looks something like this: (Contact Name – 1 New Message). This is because when messages are received in Message+, they're stored that way in the notifications center on Android.
  • If you receive more than one text message in succession from the same person, your tracker may group the messages together as "2 New Messages" or "3 New Messages" instead of showing a preview of the message text.

My husband and I both have this problem - I have a Nexus 5x and he has a Nexus 6p. We both get the buzzing when we make an outgoing call and it takes 2-4 minutes after the call connects to stop. No buttons stop it.

The continuous buzzing is a bit concerning, but I've learned that the outbound notification itself should be resolved in an Android OS update. What operating system are you running? @slconline15

@EmersonFitbit Thanks! We run Android, Marshmallow 6.0.1 - I know that there is an Android update coming this week that is supposed to fix some lag issues, is it the one that should fix this as well?

@slconline15 Sure thing buddy!

Looks like my neighbor @ErickFitbit is pretty confident about a resolution, and @Boog321 says he's seeing some success here.

My fingers are crossed.

@EmersonFitbit it really looks like it is fixed to me. Notifications might be running slightly slow now. But my phone might need a reboot.

@EmersonFitbit Thanks! Just got the update and tested it, looks to have fixed the issue. Like @Boog321 said, the incoming call notification came a little slow, but I'd rather have it be slow than have the outgoing call buzzing.

My phone is still using Android 5.1, I have been able to resolve the issue of not being able to read the text messages, I installed the app that was recommended by another use, Handcents and that has made be able to get and read the messages. Now I just need the continuous buzzing to stop when I make or receive a call. Any advise since my phone has no available updates?

The vibration is more than strong enogh to wake me up . However, during the day, if I am busy or just walking and I get a text or a call, I MAY feel it or may not.

Also, I believe if my text app is open, I do not believe the vibration goes thru.

I hope this helps.

Still does not work on samsung S6.  If there is more than one message from the same sender it just says the senders name and how many messages sent. Will not allow you to open the content of message.  If only one message is sent you can see the contact but not multiples.    I am using the standard messager and made sure the notification settings were correctly sent.

I was receiving notifications without a problem. Until last night. I've received the same notification hundreds of times now, throughout the night. I deleted the event from my calendar and it's STILL notifying me. AND the event has passed. Help!

@firemtl  The screen will not turn on automatically - you have to either use Quick View or activate the screen itself by tapping the screen or pressing a button.
