Blaze can provide Call, Text, and Calendar notifications so that you can stay connected! 

This post will provide instructions on how to setup your alerts so that you can see who's texting you, the content of the messages, who's calling, and what your calendar has on deck for you. For a detailed overview of alerts for Blaze, please see this help page. 

Setup Steps: 

1. Make sure that your mobile device is compatible with our notifications feature by visiting http://www.fitbit.com/devices. 
2. On your mobile device, make sure Bluetooth is enabled, and make sure your device is nearby! Note that you'll only receive notifications on your tracker when your mobile device is within this radius. 
3. Open the Fitbit app on your mobile device and tap your tracker tile at the top of your mobile dashboard.
4. Tap your tracker tile a second time, tap Notifications, and then turn on call notifications.
5. To verify that set up was successful, look at the list of Bluetooth-connected devices on your mobile device. Your tracker name should appear.

Using Alerts:

You can easily see all of your alerts by swiping up from the home screen. Here, you'll see previous incoming calls, text messages for the day, and calendar alerts as well. You may delete these alerts either individually or all at once.

Notes: 

• For Android users, please ensure that you've turned notification access on in your settings and enabled each notification in the Fitbit App. Please also ensure that message preview is toggled on in your phone's settings, as this should help populate the message content.
• iOS users should allow reception of text notifications in their Notification Center settings, in addition to the workflow for alerts in the Fitbit app for iOS.
• Calendar notifications use the native calendar app in iOS, and the native or select 3^rd party apps on Android.
• Windows Phones don't support alerts at this time.
• Fitbit trackers currently don't support emojis. Notifications containing emojis will show a blank square, instead of the emoji that was sent.
• Text messages won't show up if the message app is open on your phone.
• When using Message+, your Fitbit tracker will show a notification that looks something like this: (Contact Name – 1 New Message). This is because when messages are received in Message+, they're stored that way in the notifications center on Android.
• If you receive more than one text message in succession from the same person, your tracker may group the messages together as "2 New Messages" or "3 New Messages" instead of showing a preview of the message text.

Hi. I was wondering if you ever found an answer for the messages question. I have the same problem where if 1 message is sent, it shows the content, but if more than one shows it just starts saying 2msgs, 3msgs, etc.. and it wont let me open through the watch. Thank you

I received the blaze as mother's aday gift on May 7, 2016.  At that time, all notifications worked perfectly.  After the fitbit app update on May 16, 2016, phone notification no longer works, and text notifications sometimes work, and sometimes don't.  I've read where someone had this problem and went back to the version of the app before the update.  How can this be done? (I"m have a galaxy note 4 and have followed all steps necessary for notifications to work)

@Louieer what messaging app are you using, and in its settings is it set to show preview? When your phone is displaying the lock screen, how are the messages displayed on the phone? That is if your phone is an android, whitch is the more likely Device.

@Nichols2 which phone and which messaging app are you using, both Android and iOS, maybe windows also, have had all updates recently

Hi. Just using the built in messages app.. it is a samsung galaxy 5 so android.. my messages on the phone come up with a preview when received.. I believe it's also turned on for the fitbit too cuz i can see the whole message it there's only the one message sent.. its only if I receive multiple from someone before I check it on the phone that it groups the text and just says messages

@Louieer what you are describing is exactly the way the default messaging app is designed to work.  I use Google's messenger for this reason.

While Windows Phone users are most likely persons to buy a FitBit the market share of Windows is falling because Microsoft is not fully behind it's own product.

I'm with you on this but I'm also not going to hold my breath.

I am having this same problem.  stop getting notification (texts) to my blaze.  Android... I have removed and added back to my phone and fitbit.... what is going on.

Can anyone please help. I'm using S6 edge and the Blaze, but can't read the message content when I have more than one text. It just says 2 messages but I can't access them to read it. I notice loads of people have the same problem. Surely fitbit could resolve this issue.

I've noticed mine does this if I have a lot of them on my phone or long
messages I've not cleared. Hope that helps in some way. Also, make sure
that in your messaging app itself, you have selected to see the message
preview on your homescreen. If you do not, it will not show on your watch.

Thank you, but I've tried this....still no joy. I don't have the option to accept or reject calls either. It just shows who's calling. So frustrating not to have full usability. Might return it.

Androids do not let you accept or reject calls from the watch, only Apple. 

Do you have any battery saving features or Greenify apps turned on your phone?  Is it synched?  I have to resync when i want to make sure it's active for that time period if I've been away from my phones 20' range for a while.

Microsoft recently announced that they will be adding Gatt service to their Bluetooth, when they do Fitbit will be able to give windows users messaging on the Blaze. 

For those that receive the notice of say 6 messages then a list of the senders. You proposal will need to Charme the messaging app, the android default app works this way. Fitbit is displaying what is being sent to it. I switched  to Google messanger  from Android messanger for this reason. 

To help those who's messaging has stopped, mine also did after tye upgrade. Footrest thong i noticed is that on the phones bt the Blaze disappeared. After several forced syncs the Blaze showed up as being paired and notifacations returned.

Blaze is not constantly connected with Samsung J3. Once setup to Blaze call notification, a message that I went off bluetooth, the bluetooth time to turn back the Blaze will not notice the call, sms anymore. Very annoying when every time so to setup again.

@950XL open up Fitbit, tap the Blaze, then tap again to get into the Blaze Settings, scroll down and enable allways connected.  This should keep it conne ted, and connect easier when you get back to your phone

Yes. Please do something to Andriod platform !!! It is irritatin that certain functions are not compatiable for Android which is on IOS. I am also receiving double notification on my blaze.

Is that also a way that I can receive notification from Whatsapp and Text msg too? Currently I am receiving from Whatsapp cos I selected it.
