Blaze can provide Call, Text, and Calendar notifications so that you can stay connected!

This post will provide instructions on how to setup your alerts so that you can see who's texting you, the content of the messages, who's calling, and what your calendar has on deck for you. For a detailed overview of alerts for Blaze, please see this help page

Setup Steps:

  1. Make sure that your mobile device is compatible with our notifications feature by visiting http://www.fitbit.com/devices
  2. On your mobile device, make sure Bluetooth is enabled, and make sure your device is nearby! Note that you'll only receive notifications on your tracker when your mobile device is within this radius.
  3. Open the Fitbit app on your mobile device and tap your tracker tile at the top of your mobile dashboard.
  4. Tap your tracker tile a second time, tap Notifications, and then turn on call notifications.
  5. To verify that set up was successful, look at the list of Bluetooth-connected devices on your mobile device. Your tracker name should appear.

Using Alerts:

You can easily see all of your alerts by swiping up from the home screen. Here, you'll see previous incoming calls, text messages for the day, and calendar alerts as well. You may delete these alerts either individually or all at once.

Notes

  • For Android users, please ensure that you've turned notification access on in your settings and enabled each notification in the Fitbit App. Please also ensure that message preview is toggled on in your phone's settings, as this should help populate the message content.
  • iOS users should allow reception of text notifications in their Notification Center settings, in addition to the workflow for alerts in the Fitbit app for iOS.
  • Calendar notifications use the native calendar app in iOS, and the native or select 3rd party apps on Android.
  • Windows Phones don't support alerts at this time.
  • Fitbit trackers currently don't support emojis. Notifications containing emojis will show a blank square, instead of the emoji that was sent.
  • Text messages won't show up if the message app is open on your phone.
  • When using Message+, your Fitbit tracker will show a notification that looks something like this: (Contact Name – 1 New Message). This is because when messages are received in Message+, they're stored that way in the notifications center on Android.
  • If you receive more than one text message in succession from the same person, your tracker may group the messages together as "2 New Messages" or "3 New Messages" instead of showing a preview of the message text.

I need help my fitbit blaze does not vibrate when i get notifiactons  such as text, incoming calls.   Is there a feature i need to turn on?  My girlfriend has the same watch and hers work just fine.

i went through the features on the phone and even shut the watch down and restarted it.  I have also went throught the steps to provided in this forum.

I did notice that in the settings area on the watch does not have "notifcations"  Is that a factory issue or do i need to figure out how to update it?

Thank you,

Chris

Yes please get the Blaze updated for Android phones to accept or decline incoming calls. I bought this for a multplie set of reasons, this being one of them. Little did I know that that feature was not available for Android, and it wasn't disclosed when I pre-ordered it. If enough Android users ask, maybe it'll happen soon??

@Claffa526 Interesting- can you confirm that you're receiving notifications without the vibrations? I haven't seen an instance of that happening yet, but I look forward to your response.

I get the vibration for an incoming call, however the red phone to decline the call and green phone to accept the call don't show up on Android phones, apparently it's only on IOS phones?

@Jess21W  You are correct.  The ability to accept/reject a call is currently only available on IOS devices.

@timjax9 Hmm. I find that the best success always happens with native music apps, so the jury might be out for that one. Is the app compatible with AVRCP? That's where you'll see the best functionality see page 24 of the Blaze manual).

It seems like Blaze has a bluetooth connectivity issue for iOS (specifically iPhone 6s Plus)

Scenario

1. Blaze is connected to the 6s Plus (All Day Sync is Off)

2. Received a Phone call/message and Blaze promptly notifies me

3. I step into my connect and phone automatically gets connected to my car - and I am happily listening to Pandora

4. Got off the car and started walking towards the office (assuming fitbit is automatically connected)

5. Received a phone call and a message(sms) - BLAZE STOPPED NOTIFYING ME!!

6. Restarted iPhone 6s Plus and things started to work again

All of my text messages come through twice and I get two message notifications on my Fitbit Blaze. Does anyone else have this issue? Any idea what could be causing this? Every text message I get two notifications for. I have a Samsung Galaxy S5

Hi All,

I'm sorry if this has been answered, but I read through all of the posts and still am not sure how to fix this. I have followed all the steps to set up my Blaze with my Galaxy Note 4 to receive notifications. I recieve them, but all it says is who it is from and that I have a message.  None of the content of the message is displayed.  Can someone please let me know how I can view the message on my Blaze?

thanks so much in advance!

Jessi

Just got my new Blaze today and trying to do the set up.  For the text notifications, it appears I can only select one application stock message on phone vs Hangouts or WhatsApp to come through to the Blaze, is that accurate?
