Blaze incorrectly recording information when using cross trainer

Hi, Ive had my Blaze for one week, and must say i'm very disappointed.

Yesterday (24th January 2017) I used the cross trainer and set for 5miles ( my normal exercise). I set the Blaze to elliptical and started. at the end of the exercise and checking my dashboard i had the following results.

  • Ellipical - 5873 steps, 2.58 miles 1.13 hours 662 cals.
  • Run - 9088 steps 5.02 miles 1.13 hours 660 cals.

Yes the device recorded twice! as it must have automatically recorded the exercise as a run, because all thos ereadings are correct, with the elliptical low on steps and miles!

So today (25th January 2017). again set the machine to 5 miles, but today did not set the blaze to anything assuming it would auto record as a run!   These are the results that appera on the dashboard

  • Eliptical - 5044 steps, n/a miles, 1.13 hours, 700 cals.

The blaze today recordede automatically as ellipical which is correct but again the steps are approx half and no distance.

Am I doing something wrong or is this a soptware issue ??? any ideas

It's great to welcome you @Huw53 and thanks for the information provided. I would like to know if you keep having inconveniences with your exercises, have you tried to use the SmartTrack feature to record your exercises? If you haven't, I recommend trying this since it will automatically register your exercises and log them to your account.

Try it and let me know the outcome. Woman Happy

Thank you for your email.
I do use the Elliptical (cross trainer) every day for a 5 miles workout.
I have stopped starting it under "exercise" because the number of steps and miles are about half of actual. When I did start it I found that the device would also make"smart track" the exercise as a run, which is more or less the same as the information recorded on the cross trainer. Obviously, then both exercises would appear on my dashboard with them both recorded as a run, I can assure you I am not using a fast setting on the trainer.

I no longer start the elliptical under " exercise" and just allow the blaze to auto detect
Hope this helps
