I just opened my fitbit blaze from the box and tried charging it so I can do the update, but the battery won't show on the screen - so I assume it isn't charging. I looked online and it seems this is a common thing. Any suggestions on how to fix this or do I need to contact Fitbit for a new charger?

Welcome to the forums!
You will not see the Battery charging until it is set up. So charge it for 2 hours then set up it

As long as you felt a slight vibration when hooking up the cherger you should be good.

I've had my Fitbit Blaze charging for three hours now, and I'm trying to link it to my phone, and my phone is still detecting that the battery on the Blaze is too low to continue syncing. is there something I'm doing wrong?

No vibrations or any indication that it's charging correctly.

That is your first sign something is not right. Are you using your phones charger block.
