Depending on how low the battery is and the mah of the low powered source. You want a minimum of 500mah, which is at the limit of some computers, it could take forever to charge the battery.

There are many more than 2 people 😞 This is my 2nd Blaze in a week and it still won't charge whether it's in a computer (with different USBs), the wall, the charger I bought from Amazon, nothing. I do have it in correctly but it won't charge at all. Maybe you could help me get past the fitbit.com/setup screen... troubleshooting last week didn't help me (and that's why I have the 2nd one).

Welcome to the Suckers Club. Fitbit offered to exchange my Blaze. I
returned it with their FedEx Smart Post and it took 12 days to reach by
this snail mail. Fitbit would sweet talk on customer service but when it
comes to delivering customer service, it really sucks. I could have walked
to the returns department faster than the snail mail delivery offered by
Fitbit. May be it is time to give up on Fitbit.

One way i solved this issue was to plug the fitbit charger and fitbit into an Aukey 30,000 battery pack. I used the speed charger port and it seemed to respond enough to start updating.

Same issue as others. Had a Blaze that would not charge. After working with customer support they decided the unit was bad. Sent a replacement with a totally different charger and I have the same issue. Setup works fine and the unit starts to update then says battery is to low to continue. Connect through two different computers, tried a wall charger and it still won't charge. Reset unit per instructions still nothing. I can't believe two units are bad with exact same problem.

I got 2 blaze recently to give as gifts to my cousins. One is charging and other one not charging at all even if I change chargers and USB slots. I followed instructions in this forum but still not charging.
Very first, I was frustrated the way charger was designed, it is in very poor format. Now I see it has issues in charging, that doubled my frustration.
Can help here please? What should be my next steps.
Thanks.

I've had my Blaze for about five or six months and it worked great until today, when I plugged it into the charger and it didn't seem to respond to the charger at all. It's not charging on the charger and I'm wondering if I need a new charger or what.

There is a software error that does not recognize a 500 mA charge from a USB port.
You need to find a charge that has a higher rating.
You might try the USB port in your car. It varies by manufacturer, but it might be rated higher than 500 mA found in your computer.
You might try a battery back up for your smart phone. For my android device I gave a Motorola Slim Pack 4000. It has 4000 mA. Once that was applied, the Blaze began taking a charge and it took 2 hours to charge it. Once it took a charge for about 1/2 hour, it had enough charge to download the update. Once the update executed, the communication and program on the Blaze and communication to the app on the smart phone worked fine.
Now lets see what else goes wrong.

I have had the same issue with mine. The final result was contacting customer service via chat because this was quicker than waiting on the phone. I spoke with a woman named Wenjoy(I guess) and went through a series of tests to try and make it work. Unfortunately, it did not and I became eligible for either 50% off any product or the replacement of the Blaze(only the screen). Hopefully, this one works. Fingers crossed.
Good luck!!

Thanks for the information. Moved my New Fitbit Blaze to a mobile charger with a usb port and it started charging and syncing. Thank you! Already returned one to Walmart because I could not get it to charge!!! Thank You!

Have been having the same problem with the newly acquired Blaze. I have tried all ways to charge but nothing happens, not even the iphone charger. Cannot even see the level of the battery.

They replaced my Blaze and it got it working. Apparently, the first charge
is the barrier to get through to get it to work correctly. I'm loving my
new Blaze... hopefully you can get yours to work! Perhaps they should
package them already fully charged to eliminate the problem. Good luck!

I have had 2 Blazes this year. I broke the first one, so that's my problem. The 2nd one works fine, but the new owner needs to know the facts:
The Blaze arrives in its box, uncharged and without any software loaded up. Therefore, the Blaze must be in its dock and plugged into a wall charger to receive adequate instant power to manage the set up procedure. Then, the new owner should go through the set up procedure, but do not do the charge up procedure at the outset, because there is no charge management software in it, at that time, so "do it later". The next action is to download the latest software from Fitbit, through the mobile device. Then, the charging management software will be onboard and the owner can then charge from a pc or other frame.
Hope this helps...
