Hi Amar,
1. Download the Fitbit app into your mobile device.
2. Insert the Blaze into the charging dock and connect it to a wall charger. At this point the Blaze will not charge, but it will be powered and capable of accepting a software download.
3. On the mobile app you then enter the setup mode. At an early stage in the setup you will be asked to charge the Blade. Do not do that. There is no charging management software in the Blaze at that time. So, choose the "do it later" option and continue.
4. Then the setup will take you through the software download and update.
5. The Blaze will then have the charging management software onboard and you can leave it to charge up.... set up complete.

I'm working on the second Blaze that will not change. Face it - this is a problem that can't be fixed and would not exist in a company that made quality products. Best solution is to get your money back and go with proven products.

My old blaze would not hold a charge for longer than a few hours so I went and brought another one thinking that its life had run out like most things.(have since read there are some firmware update problems)
the new one will not update so that it can finish the set up process because it has not enough charge, when you put it on charge it just comes up with the fitbit symbol and fitbit.com/setup message, but did i read correctly here on this thread "the first charge should be from the wall" I did not know that, you think this will fix the problem, how long should i charge from the wall before i try again.
really not happy as i dont like being without my fitbit

Plug it into the wall and start the setup, but DO NOT ATTEMPT to charge it. There is no charge management software in it, so it will not charge up. However, it is now powered up by the wall, but without any software. Bypass the request to charge and instead start the download.
Once the download is complete, the charge management software will be onboard and it will automatically start charging

I had a black screen on my Blaze then noticed it looked like it was not charging.
1. I followed the advice to press the left and bottom right bottoms at the same time for 10secs and it did work to bring back / restart my Fitbit digital screen.
I then placed the Fitbit in the charger pack and noticed that the charging line just stayed on the 1 pink line, unlike the multiple moving lines, this lead me to believe it was not charging.
2. I opened up the charging box and wiped the metal points on both the charger and watch, placed the Fitbit back in the charger and pressed the fitbit down to see if it was connecting before closing the cover. It was now charging, as I could see the lines were moving.
Thanking all others who asked questions and posted answers previously, it helped me to Solve my Fitbit issues...TashGa.

@kevnurse, even when the display has the setup message there is a charge management software. In fact the lithium battery in your tracker has its own drdicated charge management chip think of it as a dedicated computer that is able to handle voltages as high as 30 volts.
Now as long as tge setup message is displayed, there will not be any visual indicator of charging on the display. You will however feel a vibration when connecting it.
So yes it is safe to charge right out of the box.
My experience is tgat some computers simply are unable to provide enouph current to charge the tracker up at a reasonable amount of time. Think of it as filling a swimming pool with a garden hose appose to a fire truck hose. Which will fill faster?

Hi
According to Fit bit App Blaze I cannot set up my Fit bit unless screen shows display which it is not. I am ( I think) charging it. It is the the charging doc the only click I heard is when you close the lid. There is no click to install top to bottom. Judy's sits there until you shut the lid. Plugged in nothing showing not sure if it's charging at all

Not too happy. Got a new fitbit blaze, won't charge. Yes, I've done all the troubleshooting multiple times. Can't complete the update. So I looked around the properties using my laptop and apparently, even before I got it, there was a TON of errors with the device itself. I mean, thousands. Like it was constantly being tested and checked but never was fixed and it was sent out anyway?! Why does that happen?! I'd appreciate answers. I paid over 200 for this thing, not worth even a dime.

Thanks community! Holding down the single left button at the same time of holding down lower right one for 10 seconds got it to charge finally.

Funny I have had this blaze over six months and I guess I have always made sure it clicked when I put it in the charger. When I went back and checked I had not made sure it clicked in once it clicked in it started charging. Thanks

Yes, agreed. We are experiencing the same problem. We have already gotten one replacement, but it did the same thing!
