I purchased the Blaze late 2017 and have grown frustrated as it’s grossly under-counting my steps. This is very frustrating when setting goals, as well as in friendly competitions with the wife and friends. I enjoy the app and its features but if it’s not accurate, then I can’t image continuing usage or recommending this to anyone. I bought my wife the Charge 2 at the same time and hers seems to be much more accurate. But I won’t invest more money in the Fit Bit for something that might work.
Please tell me there is a fix.
Here are all of the tests I’ve done. Resets of the watch were completed frequently.
1st test: Did Blaze reset, then walked and counted 100 steps. Blaze recorded 52 steps.

2nd test: I walked down our long hall and counted a little over 600 steps. My fitbit recorded about 350 steps. Just a shade over half of what I actually did.
Figuring the fitbit also goes on distance I did my next test. Using fitbit and MyFitnessPal, I tracked the distance I walked down the hall one way. Both recorded .30 miles. So distance is accurate. But the fitbit again only recorded about 350 steps. In reality when looking up on Google and other sites, .30 miles should equal about 633 steps. So fitbit is off by almost half.

3rd test: Blaze vs Pedometer Step Counter app (on Samsung S8)…
All day test, taking readings throughout the day.
Blaze: 1886, 3794, 5044, 8262
PSC: 2968, 6121, 7544, 12583
Results: Undercounted by 1102, 2327, 2500, 4321 (undercounted by almost two miles by the end of the day)

4th test: Blaze vs My Fitness Pal (on Samsung S8) vs Pedometer Step Counter app (on Samsung S8)…
All started at same time for one walk…
Blaze: 1668 Steps (.95 miles)
MFP: 2930 (1.4 miles)
PSC: 2940 (1.5 miles)
Results: Blaze undercounted by about 43%.
I’ve tried just about every suggestion I could find in the forum. Please let me know how/if this issue can be resolved.

I’ve got the same problem. I use the Blaze and my wife the Charge 2. We’ll go on a walk together and she’ll record 10,000 steps and I’ll record 8,000 steps; and she has the longer strive length, hence I am actually taking more steps.

So I've read thread after thread after thread on this subject but can't seem to find any fix from the fitbit folks. I don't understand how the Charge 2 and other can be accurate but the more expensive Blaze is not accurate. And it's a very well known issue.

Anybody from Fitbit on this board that can address this issue? Who do we send an email to for help? Can't find it on the site.

Can’t support just share some tips rather than we all individually have to contact them? 😫
